A colleague and I stayed at the HGI while attending a conference at the Sheraton. The HGI had everything we could have asked for -- large comfortable rooms with a desk and internet access, a free isolated business center, a coffee cafe, a reasonably priced casual restuarant, and generally helpful staff. The windows actually open a little so that you can have fresh air and night and turn off the A/C. The location was perfect for walking to just about everything in the downtown area.
We did have one major problem -- the room we were assigned was literally flooded by a sprinkler accident in the room above and we arrived to a carpet that was fully saturated several feet into the room from the windows. Three managers came to check out our complaint and we were immediately moved to another room. We were each given a free breakfast coupon for the inconvenience.
The breakfast buffet at PI (in the hotel) was really remarkable. Even at the $14 price it had far more than most large hotel brunch buffets. You could have individually prepared omlets, eggs and pancakes in addition to the steam table offerings which included scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, oatmeal, fruit, cereal, juices and more. There was also a coffee cafe where we got coffee and yogurt parfaits.
All in all I was quite pleased with the HGI.
