I just recently stayed 5 nights at the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Denver and it was a very enjoyable stay. I read some of the earlier reviews about the value for what they paid. Since I paid less than $150 per night, my stay was well worth the money. They have an excellent breakfast buffet that was included in the room price and it offered a varied selection including made-to-order omelets. They also have a nice-sized exercise facility that is located on the lower level near the indoor pool.

The staff was very attentive and friendly. The hotel is fairly new and the decor is great in the public areas and in the rooms. They have the new flat screen televisions in each room and that's becoming a standard that I look for. I didn't use the valet service but the price they charge is typical to downtown hotels in other major cities.

The area the hotel is located in didn't seem to be a problem for me and the hotel is right across the street from the Colorado Convention Center. The16th Street Mall is only 2 blocks away and was a pleasant walk even in 40 degree weather. I used the free 16th Street Mall shuttle to get to restaurants and stores that were several blocks away, so access to most things in downtown Denver was not a problem for me.

I even walked the roughly one-mile trek to the Pepsi Center to see the Nuggets play. I felt safe and noticed others walking along 14th Street that night. (I could have used the mall shuttle to reduce some of my walking distance but needed the exercise).

I agree that if you are paying upwards of $300 a night, there may be other choices that provide better value for the money. However, I would strongly recommend this Hilton Garden Inn to other travelers to Denver and especially to those familiar with the brand.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Downtown Denver and can report a very favorable visit.

The staff was friendly and efficient. The location was great, but since we are from Colorado and know Denver well it worked to our advantage knowing where to stay for the event we were attending, the convention center is right next door. The rooms were clean and the beds quiet comfortable.

We paid $119 for a Saturday night through the Hilton website.

We did not eat at the resturant, so no help there.

The only minor complaint was the $25 valet fee to park your car, you really don't have any other choice, seemed high.

Overall, we had a very pleasant experience.

That's my opinion, I could be wrong.

Great deal for Priceline. The hotel was really nice, in a great location, good view and good staff. The only HUGE problem was that I left a mobile charger in the room and they could care less to call me back or follow up. The rooms were nice, good view and Internet access. Not bad!

I am a Hilton Diamond member, so will always try to stay at a Hilton brand if possible. Unfortunately, I'll choose either the Hyatt, Hotel Teatro, or perhaps try the new Ritz Carlton currently being going into the old Embassy Suites location when I stay downtown in Denver again. There was nothing really horrible about this hotel, but the hotel did not at all live up to expectations for the price paid (with valet approximately $300/night). The pros: An incredibly comfortable bed and staff that try to be helpful. The cons: Poor location, an almost motel type of feel, and vastly overpriced. I currently live in Asia, and perhaps my expectations are set higher because of this (5 star hotels in Asia are generally cheaper than I paid for the Hilton in Denver and have vastly better atmospheres & service). As I said, however, for the price paid there are better options in Denver.

I wanted to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn for a change of pace within the Hilton family hotels. I normally stay at the Hampton Inn downtown when I travel to Denver. I spent more money than I would've at the Hampton Inn and the stay at this new downtown hotel was merely average. First of all, the hotel is wedged into a space on the corner of Welton and 14th, well south of the 16th Avenue Mall. Driving access is difficult. There is no parking, so you have to pay the exorbitant valet fees. The area around the hotel is sketchy. The hotel staff is new and people are trying hard, but they do not know much about the area. I arrived late (9:30 p.m.) after a couple airport delays and I asked the hotel staffers if they had a recommendation for a late night bite to eat. "Most of the restaurants are closed" is all I got. The AC was not working in the hallways, so while the rooms for nicely ventilated, the halls were stuff and hot. I did not explore any of the hotel amenities, but the room was brand new and everything worked. But, I expected more for $265 that I paid. Maybe things'll get better as the kinks get worked out.
