I stayed here while in Denver on a business trip in April, and was very pleased with the stay. The hotel, while not "downtown" is VERY conveniently located at I-25 and Speer - right off the exit. We had meetings downtown, but Speer goes right there, and it only took about 5 - 10 minutes to get from the hotel to our building downtown. Plus getting out of town was also convenient since Speer is an exit on/off I-25.

As others have said, the hotel is "new" - it's only about a year old, but still has the new hotel feel - it's very clean, the rooms are nice, and all the common areas were very well kept. The breakfast area had ample room, and the typical Hampton fare (I still can't tell if those egg disks are really eggs or not), but they kept it well stocked and clean. The hotel also has a meeting room which we used for working all one afternoon - it was great, as it has an overhead projector with wall-mount cable jack, and plenty of seat/table space.

The free internet is nice, and the business center has the PC, internet, printer, and FedEx supplies. There is also a small room right next to the front desk that stocks and sells snacks, frozen dinners, ice cream, post cards, and other sundries. Nice touch, especially if you don't want to walk around for dinner (not recommended - the neighborhood isn't bad, but it isn't somewhere you'd want to walk around much at night). We did walk about 5 blocks to a great sandwich shop for lunch (Jay's), and during the day it was fine.

The outside of the hotel was kept in good shape, and we were able to find parking right against the building both days. All the staff we encountered (even the maintenance) were very courteous and professional. I believe it was the manager that actually checked me in, and he was very helpful - even in the midst of some computer issue they were having. There is a pool and workout room (treadmill, elliptical, and stationary bike) in the basement level of the hotel - small but good to have there.

No real complaints at all, would DEFINITELY stay here again if in Denver. The rates, location, property condition, and staff competency made it very worthwhile.

My family stayed in Hampton Inn on Speer Blvd. for a week. We love this place and we will definitely stay here again if we come to Denver in the future. Since this hotel was opened last year (2006), the facilities are very clean and new. The hotel offers FREE parking, FREE breakfast, and FREE wireless internet connection. Since I traveled with my 1.5 and 3.5 year old boys, we needed laundry, and the hotel provides its guest FREE washer and drier! The hotel locates about 2 miles away from the city center. There is a city bus route 28 that stops near the hotel and it takes only 30 minutes walk to the city center. The staffs were really kind and helpful. If you visit Denver for a day or two for business, you may want to stay in a hotel in downtown. But if you travel with kids for a few days in Denver, I strongly encourage you to stay in Hampton Inn - Speer Blvd. Children's museum and downtown aquarium are in walking distance!
I just wish that the hotel would have a bigger parking lot.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites during a business trip in January and I was very impressed with the staff and the rooms at this relatively new hotel. The hotel is right off the freeway (I-25) and very easy to find. The rooms were very spacious and included free internet. The free breakfast was also very good, and I would definitely stay here again.

  • Liked — free internet, breakfast, proximity to freeway
  • Disliked — Room was bit cold at times due to controlled heating

This is a fine hotel - it's new so it's clean and everything works very well. Comfy beds, clean bathrooms etc. And the business center is very handy with free Internet connection and computers.

The location is is ok - it's about a mile or so from downtown. We took the bus every day (the number 28 stops right in front) and had no problem getting around. There is nothing within the immediate area except two gas stations and three other hotels so you'll either walk a bit to a restaurant or take a bus like we did.

Caveat: Speer Blvd is very busy and loud. Demand a room in the back or you'll be sorry. Also - there are three rooms directly off of the main lobby (room 101, 102, 103). Don't accept these rooms. Very loud.

My husband and I really enjoyed our night at the Hampton Inn! The property is new, and delightful. We found the bed to be very comfortable, and loved the fact that both soft/firm pillows were available! We highly recommend this property!
