As most of the other reviewers, we were extremely satisfied with the Hampton Inn. Rooms were very comfortable and extremely clean. We loved the amenities the hotel offered, the pool was very nice and we enjoyed breakfast. All in all, a very nice hotel with a good location.

This is a wonderful hotel close to downtown Denver. We loved it. The hotel is well appointed and the staff were very helpful. Our room was comfortable, clean and I loved the granite countertops which add a measure of luxury. What impressed us most, however, was a note left by the management that specified their philosophy of treating each guest as family. On this road trip we only stayed at one Hampton, so I don't know if this is a corporate wide campaign or just for this particular property, but it was clear they were living up to their ideals. Kudos.

We stayed there for 3 nights in juin and had a great stay. The location is ideal, few minutes from downtown, the aquarium and Elicht Gardens.

This Hampton inn seems brand new with a modern look. Very attractive hotel. The room was perfect with comfortable beds. We asked for a room not facing Speer blvd which becomes very busy during rush hour. We had a room on the parking lot side and it was very quiet.

Breakfast was good with bagel, English muffin, muffin, etc. We did not use the indoor pool but it seemed nice and clean.

Hampton inn Speer blvd is a very good hotel without paying the high price. And because of its proximity to downtown, there is a mix of business travelers and family, which is good.

  • Liked — The brand new modern look of the hotel.
  • Disliked — The main parking lot is kind of narrow and in a slop. But there is another one adjacent which is leveled and large.

We spent two nights here while visiting our daughter in Denver. Very close to downtown and right off I-25 at the Speer Avenue exit. Smaller but newer property. The Residence Inn is across the street and has exterior room access only, which given the transitional nature of the area would raise safety concerns for me, especially if traveling alone. There are some run-down motels adjacent to the Hampton and I noticed a security guard in the parking lot we arrived back to the hotel after dark. While possible, it would be a long walk to Lo-Do, and not a pleasant one.

There is highway noise but it is certainly nice to open the window, and turning on the fan drowns it out. Typical very comfortable Hampton bedding, except for some reason the pillowcases were very rough textured. The towels were also in need of replacement. The room was otherwise average in furnishings, but there was a refrigerator and a microwave in our standard king bedded room. The bathroom are very nicely appointed, though the Hampton toiletries are marginal (nothing like Neutrogena products at Hilton Garden Inns). But there is free parking, unlike the Hampton Inn right downtown.

The breakfast here was also just average. No hot pre-made oatmeal just packets (my discriminator) and watered down OJ. It is odd how some Hamptons have a nicer selection of breakfast items than others.

The Denver Aquarium is five minutes away. There is also flagship REI store right near by, with a large selection of items, and a clearance section with bargains to be had. The REI is on the Platte River, which makes for a very nice walk. Colorado Mills, off CO6 heading west of downtown, at the Indiana exit has several great stores, including Neiman Marcus, Ann Taylor, Eddie Bauer and Off Saks outlets.

  • Liked — New, clean, friendly, convenient location, free parking
  • Disliked — Overpriced, skimpy breakfast, freeway noise

My home in Denver was being remodeled in February and March. During the drywall portion of the project, I spent two nights (okay 1 and 1/2 nights) at this hotel to escape the dust.

The room was reasonably clean, and spacious with a couch and desk and free internet (which was nice) but kind of noisy due to street noise from the busy Speer/Zuni intersection below.

There was a strange smell in the room that bothered me. Cleaning product? I have no idea, but it was irritating to my nose, sinuses and throat. The first night at the hotel, I just left the windows open so the smell did not bother me so much. I wore ear plugs for the noise, so it wasn't such a problem.

The second night, my husband joined me at the hotel, and the noise bothered him, so he wanted the windows closed. With the windows closed, I could not bear to be in the room.

The smell, whatever it was, burned my sinuses and throat, so at 12:30 A.M., I woke up my husband and told him I was going home.

I chose my dusty house over whatever it was at the hotel that irritated me.

I always point out in my reviews conditions that could be troubling to chemically sensitive individuals, and, if you are chemically sensitive, there is some product here that could be problematic for you. It's a fairly new hotel, and back in February (or early March), I could smell the new carpet smell in the stairwell, but that wasn't what this was. So, be aware, especially if you have respiratory sensitivities.

  • Liked — location near my house
  • Disliked — the smell that forced me to leave!
