I stay in Denver frequently and always stay here because of the location to the Auraria Campus and the 25. It's a Hampton Inn, so it is not the Ritz. But, it is very clean, the staff is absolutely phenomenal, and if you are looking for a decent hotel with a convenient location to the theater district and downtown. There are restaurants close by for take out or dine in....

I wouldn't recommend the hotel if you are going to Denver for the nightlife or a romantic weekend -- but for a business travelr, it's perfect!

This year my brother, sister and I treated our mom to a quick weekend visit to Denver and Estes Park for Mother's Day. For the last night of our trip we stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites in downtown Denver. Overall, we were pleased with our stay.

The hotel was clean, modern and looked to be fairly new. The rooms were comfortable and beds amazing. The front desk staff was also welcoming during our short stay. Our room did face an alley though which didn't provide us with the best views, but we didn't spend much time in our room so it wasn't a big deal. As other travelers have mentioned, the hotel does not offer self-parking. If you are visiting on a weekday you will have to pay to use a nearby public lot or utilize the hotel's valet parking service. Since we stayed on a weekend, we were able to use on-street parking free of charge.

A drawback to this hotel is its location. It is located in the southeast corner of downtown and while the 16th Street Mall isn't too far off (10 minute walk), the convention center, Coors Field and other downtown attractions are quite a hike on foot. The Royals were in town and we ended up taking the free MallRide shuttle down 16th Street and then walking to the ballpark. In all, it took us about 30 minutes to get from the hotel to Coors Field.

On my next visit to Denver, I'll look into staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites again. However, I would prefer another hotel with a more centralized location that is comparable in price.

Hilton Honor's Diamond member greeted with, "I see you are on a government rate -- I can't upgrade your room with that". After a discussion about the irrelevance of that fact the 19 year old did me the "favor" of upgrading me to a non-smoking room that reeked of smoke.

Overall a very disappointing experience. Moved to the Hyatt nearby, foregoing my Hilton's Honors points.

Why would the Hampton Inn have a kid with an attitude running their front desk? Why would they not take care of a room that is obviously smelling of smoke? It's beyond me but they have lost my business.

I was booked into this hotel when I went to the Microsoft Convention in July.

I had ordered stuff from Amazon.com which I had sent ahead before I arrived. The hotel held it for me until I arrived.

The room was spacious and the bed was wonderful. They provided a choice of pillows and mattress and sheets were very comfortable. There was free internet in the room and that was great for me. I had good sleep at this hotel. Breakfast was just OK. The eggs were rubbery and hard.

I used the laundary at the basement and worked out at the gym while waiting for the wash & dry. The gym was small but they had enough equipment for a decent workout.

The walk to the 16th street mall was ok. I even walked to the convention center on a few ocassions. The streets were safe and the walk rather enjoyable.

The hotel was a block away from Avis, which was good for me as I needed to rent a car at the end of the conference to have a short holiday touring Colorado.

Some other stuff I ordered arrived after I checked out. The hotel manager was helpful and sent the stuff to forwarding address at a minimal charge US 3.50 which they credited to my card.

All in all, nice hotel. Will stay again.

We stayed at this hotel on a Saturday evening in late July 2007. We found it fairly easy to find, although downtown Denver is hard to navigate if you aren't familiar with it. Their street system makes no sense, and there are many three lane one way streets!

This property would be difficult to stay at during the work week, because there is no hotel property parking. On the weekends, guests can park for free on the street without paying the meter or paying a lot. During the week, you must pay the lot across the street or valet through the hotel for $18 per night.

The room was clean and up to date, although the inside of our closet did contain spray painted gang graffiti on the inside of the closet door. The bathroom also did not have a fan.

The indoor pool and hot tub were nice and not crowded. No outdoor pool at this property. Hotel staff were very gracious and the complimentary breakfast buffet was a bonus.

I would stay here again if visiting downtown Denver for a weekend.

  • Liked — Clean, updated hotel with nice appearance from the outside and the lobby.
  • Disliked — Gang graffiti spray painted on inside of our closet door.
