This year my brother, sister and I treated our mom to a quick weekend visit to Denver and Estes Park for Mother's Day. For the last night of our trip we stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites in downtown Denver. Overall, we were pleased with our stay.
The hotel was clean, modern and looked to be fairly new. The rooms were comfortable and beds amazing. The front desk staff was also welcoming during our short stay. Our room did face an alley though which didn't provide us with the best views, but we didn't spend much time in our room so it wasn't a big deal. As other travelers have mentioned, the hotel does not offer self-parking. If you are visiting on a weekday you will have to pay to use a nearby public lot or utilize the hotel's valet parking service. Since we stayed on a weekend, we were able to use on-street parking free of charge.
A drawback to this hotel is its location. It is located in the southeast corner of downtown and while the 16th Street Mall isn't too far off (10 minute walk), the convention center, Coors Field and other downtown attractions are quite a hike on foot. The Royals were in town and we ended up taking the free MallRide shuttle down 16th Street and then walking to the ballpark. In all, it took us about 30 minutes to get from the hotel to Coors Field.
On my next visit to Denver, I'll look into staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites again. However, I would prefer another hotel with a more centralized location that is comparable in price.
