It is hard to add to the positive reviews of the Hampton Inn other than to note they are correct. The location is very convenient, the price is right, the rooms are comfortable and very clean, and the front desk is very helpful. They even suggested parking on the street overnight, saving the valet parking fee (the meters do not start until 9:00 a.m.). A few tourist notes - the Denver Mint is well worth the effort; you need reservations in advance and it takes about 30 minutes once you are inside. We reserved the same day but only found one time to accommodate four people so be aware that reserving it at the last minute limits your choices. The 16th Street Mall has stores like every other large city, so it is nothing special. But Larimer Square (really just one street) is worth the trip as it has some unique stores. Also check out Cherry Creek; both the mall and First, Second and Third Streets near the mall (lots of boutiques), about a ten minute drive from downtown. If you have a chance to see a baseball game at Coors Field, do it. Easy to get to (you can take the free 16th Street Mall bus and walk over) and enjoyable, especially the cool evening weather.

Needed a place to stay in downtown Denver for a budget family vacation. This place was a short walk from most of the tourist attractions, at a decent price, and had STELLAR service. The staff at this hotel surpassed their counterparts at even the swankiest places I've stayed -- they were professional, but above all else highly personable and authentically caring. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here last month with a friend and it was excellent. When we pulled up to the hotel I was a little worried as there didn't seem to be much around but a carpark next to it. However, it was a very short walk to 16th Street Mall and to the general downtown area. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, access to the internet was free and we never waited for a computer. The rooms were fine, it was good that they had a microwave and fridge. The breakfast was fine and when we were checking in they had home made cookies which were delicious. I would highly recommend anyone going to Denver, whether it be for business or pleasure, to stay here.

We stayed at the new Hampton Inn & Suites downtown Denver on a business trip. This fine hotel is conveniently located minutes from the Colorado State Capital.
We learned the hotel was remodeled after a former life as an apartment style building. The developer did a fabulous job converting the building into a three-star business hotel. The lobby entrance is modern and functional. We stayed in a deluxe king room but were pleasantly surprised at the enormous space! Our room had a good-sized wetbar area and a very clean bathroom. Views from the room overlooked an ugly parking garage under an old office building. We didn't mind this after the lovely accommodations. Most intriguing was the below ground indoor pool & spa: a subterranean marvel! The staff was very polite and professional. We look forward to visiting this fine hotel and recommend to others who visit downtown Denver.

I enjoyed my 10-day stay at the Hampton Inn Downtown Denver. Originally booked with another hotel located in the central downtown area but did not like the small size room for the enormous price. Browsed through the yellow pages and chose the Hampton Inn and was very pleased with the experience. It isn't located in central downtown, which is a plus, because the central downtown area, in my opinion, was a maze of activity, people, traffic, not how I wanted to spend my vacation.
The Hampton Inn is located a few short blocks from the central area, within walking distance of 5-10 minutes from the central downtown area. It appeared to be a safe area, at least I felt safe while staying there. There are a variety of tourist attractions in the area which included the state capital and several museums. Denver has an active public transportation system, buses, light rail.
Staff at the Hampton Inn were courteous and helpful. The Hampton Inn has a large, well furnished, check-in and waiting area and a large dining area. There were a variety of food items available at breakfast . The exercise facility included treadmills, bike, weight machines, a cross-trainer, and a large indoor pool. There was also a laundry facility, $1.75 for large capacity washer, $1.50 for the dryer. The front desk has laundry detergent and changes bills into quarters for the machines. Every floor had an ice machine and soda vending machine. Since I intended to stay a longer time, I went grocery shopping at a local foodmarket, but also dined in local restaurants. The hotel has information on tourist attractions and day trips. Free wireless connection in rooms was a plus.
Parking was $16.00 per day, that sounds like alot, but their valet parking was worth it. Downtown parking charges one price during the day, and an additional price overnight, and if you leave the lot you have to pay again when you return. Street parking meters located around the Hampton Inn limit parking to two hours. With the hotel's valet parking you can come and go as many times as you want without any additional charges. I strongly recommend inspecting your rental car before signing for it. A car rental agent stated that " lots of their cars have scratches".
Every night I slept soundly in beds which were just the right firmness. The Hampton's studio suite was spacious and had plenty of counter space. I had a stellar stay at the Hampton Inn in downtown Denver and highly recommend this hotel for those traveling to Denver.
