Stayed here this past weekend for a quick vacation and it was a great experience on a number of levels.

-- The location is great, two blocks from the 16th Street Mall, a short walk to Coors Field, a nice jaunt to the trails near the Platte River.

-- The accommodations were terrific...we stayed in a suite with a small flatscreen in the sitting room and a larger TV in the bedroom. There wasn't any dirt or grime or any of those issues...the place was spotless. Free Internet kept us connected and to check on last-minute plans.

-- Parking was painless ...yes, it was a separate cost, but, the garage is run by a private company, so that's to be expected I think.

-- Breakfast was awesome. Free, hot, varied and yummy. Eggs, sausage, waffles, potatoes, French toast, oatmeal (with options of raisins, brown sugar and walnuts), yogurt, fruit, breads, juice, cereals, etc., etc. The hot foods were slightly different every day (for example, Monday had scrambled eggs and scrambled eggs and ham). Did I mention this was all free? That, by far, is the best part. We then spent a little more on dinners in Denver because of the money saved (we're big believers in a big breakfast to start the day off right).

-- Cleaning service was great, down to the little details. I wasn't feeling 100 percent, including a sore throat. Thankfully, our room had a jar with hard candies and I used quite a few to keep my throat moist. Everyday, the candies were refilled, which was great.

-- Our suite had a small kitchen with a fridge, stovetop and microwave. Although we didn't use anything other than the fridge for water, if we stayed longer than three nights, we probably would have used it more. We did order room service and the food was good, but it was nice to have some kitchen space for the food. Another nice touch is the free bag of popcorn that's in each room with a kitchen...and refilled upon request!

-- The bed was comfy, though a tad smaller than our bed at home, so my wife and I had to adjust. It was comfortable, though the air in the rooms was a bit dry and it made my sore throat worse, but that's probably an abnormal case that affected me only.

-- Front desk staff was very helpful, asking where we were from, giving us directions to places, etc.

-- The only small thing I would critique is that a bill was not under our door when we woke up the last morning we were there. I thought that's a common practice, but, perhaps not. So I had to go to the front desk, but there was never a wait at the front desk.

All in all, this hotel lived up to its No. 1 rating here and I would strongly encourage people to stay here if you're looking for a downtown Denver hotel at a great rate (we paid $129/night).

I would recomend this hotel anytime. We stayed 5 days, 3 of which were part of a snow storm, so we had to stay in the hotel a lot. Staff was wonderfull, making sure we were ok and offering a lot af amenities. Full breackfast and light dinner (M-Th) Dinner includes wine & beer, all inclusive. The hotel is pretty new, I think it was built in 2005 or so, everything looks nice, clean, the room was perfect, small kitchen, great bed linens, flat screen TV in the living room. AS you can see I will stay here again, do not hesitate to stay here, if it meets your need as far as location, go for it!

Our family of three stayed at the Residence Inn during spring break. We got a studio suite which was a bit tight - if we went back we would get a larger room. The location was great and very convenient, as was parking. The breakfast was better than we expected. Service was solid. Kitchen was fabulous.

Our only complaint is something we've experienced other times we've booked through Expedia. We got what must have been the lowest quality room of its size. It was right next to the gym and entrance to the rooftop hot tub, so it was noisy all the time, especially early in the morning. Also, it was a handicapped accessible room, which means no bathtub or real shower - just a tiled room with a shower head. The entire bathroom was a pool by the end of each morning. We had a similar experience in Phoenix, so I think this must be something hotels do when they see the Expedia tag. We would definitely stay here again... but we would book the room directly.

We didn't have a view of the mountains, and this hotel isn't edgy like a few of the boutique hotels in downtown Denver purport to be, but it's a darn good place to stay. It's in a renovated building, not hard to find, handy covering parking is available for $13 a day, and the location was excellent. We were two blocks or less from the mall bus, the tram, and lots of restaurants. The Pepsi Center, Invesco Field, and Coors Field can be reached pretty easily from the hotel. We had a suite with a small bedroom, small living room, and fully equipped kitchen in which one could cook. The bathroom was excellent. Front desk service was excellent. Public areas were beautiful, as the hotel is somewhat new. Included in our room price of about $120 a night was a full, and good, breakfast buffet. The lobby offered free internet service.

The hotel looked brand new, everything in it was spotless. We were there for 5 days, Thurs. thru Tues. Great location, only a couple of blocks from the 16th Street Mall with all its restaurants and shopping and free shuttle up and down the mall. The staff was very nice and friendly, and the free breakfast was good. We were attending an event at the Convention Center, and it was an easy walk from the hotel. Yes, there were a few of the usual homeless people along the way that one expects in the downtown area of a big city, but they were not intrusive and we never felt uneasy. We would definitely stay at this hotel again when in Denver. Great stay!
