We stayed at the Denver Hyatt at Colorado Convention Centre for a conference in November 2008. From the minute we got out of the hotel, it was an exemplary visit. The gentlemen at the door were very welcoming and kind. Josh at the front desk was efficient and knowledgeable when we checked in. Our room was excellent, spotless clean, very comfortable bed with a variety of pillows so you could find one you liked, great amenities including travel size toothpaste - we have not seen that before and loved that!

We had a discussion with John, the Housekeeping manager at one point when we were waiting in line at the front desk (he was quick to approach us so we were not waiting long and assisted us with our request), he told us more about the hotel and how it was striving for a "green" status. The hotel goes to great lengths to recycle, you see recycle bins everywhere, and also use energy efficient lighting and appliances.

The gym at the hotel is excellent with at least 10 cardio machines with TV's for your entertainment. The decor through the hotel is modern and tasteful.

The staff were pleasant at every turn, and for a North American hotel, it was truly outstanding (we travel for conferences a lot and this hotel has stood out as the best we have been to for business travel).

The hotel also has very reasonably priced foods and drinks. Drinks at the conference social were under $6 (we have paid $8+ in other hotels), and the extensive continental breakfast buffet (with tons of fresh cut fruit) was great at $10.50 per person including coffee.

The location of the hotel is excellent - we went to the most amazing Peruvian dinner while there - ask about the name of it at the front desk, it's about 4 blocks away. Plus, the Rioja restaurant on Larimer and 14th was completely beyond excellent.

We would not hesitate to stay here again.

This hotel is TOP-NOTCH.
Mine was a standard room, not a suite, so it was "regular size," about 20x12 (ish?). It was clean, it had a very nice bed, nice sheets, a side-by-side stand-up closet and open closet (if that makes sense). Plenty of room to spread out, unpack, get work done. There was an EXTRA, wheeled table that was under the desk...this came in VERY handy as I was able to roll it out and spread my work stuff all over it while NOT sacrificing space on the table itself. It was like adding a "second wing" to the desk itself - VERY useful for business travelers.

This hotel is recently built, so it was very well decorated, the rooms were well appointed, the furniture was nice and new and everything I did / used was kept in good condition / in good working order.

The service, from the doorman / valets, to the Front Desk folks, to the Concierge, they were all very good, very attentive, very helpful - they were head and shoulders above SO MANY OTHER hotels I've stayed in....They get it! They are a great example of what customer service should be.

Some other things:
- The business center has workstations and plug-ins for lap-tops, but at 60 cents/page & $24/hour (to use the workstation), it's just TOO EXPENSIVE.

- The gym was GREAT! Open 24/7 and it has plenty of equipment, including free weights, plenty of bikes/ellypticals/etc. Oh, and there's a pool and a sauna.

- The "VIP Lounge" on the 35th Floor had a good spread, good food, well-staffed and was nice.

- The Grand Ballroom, while very nice and clean and new, just seemed to be a little too utilitiarian (as far as design). It was too "steel-and-rock," but I'm not really complaining as much as I'm just commenting on the decor.

- The Hotel is literally right across the street from the Convention Center itself (which is VERY nice, HUMONGOUS and has good customer service itself.)

- The hotel is also closely located to the 16th Street promenade / mall, bars, clubs, restaurants, etc.

Bottom line: GREAT HOTEL!

  • Liked — The hotel still had the "new car smell"
  • Disliked — Business Center was too expensive

Overall, this hotel was great in many ways: location; amenities; room size; views; lobby bar; proximity to convention center, museums, shopping, dining, and sports facilities. My husband and I walked everywhere--everything was so close! Plus, the hotel is on the airport shuttle route, a much cheaper option than a taxi. The only thing that was disconcerting was one day we came back to the room to find that the cleaning staff had left our hotel room door open by pulling out the bolt. I'm sure that they didn't mean to, but it was still alarming. I'm glad nothing was taken from the room. I would stay here again though.

I recently stayed at the hotel for 7 nights for a professional conference. I travel a lot on business so I try to structure my reviews based on what people will encounter themselves.

Arrival: The bell boys outside were always very polite and very helpful when need to embark/ disembark / find transportation, there friendliness and helpfulness never waivered throughout different shifts

Check In / Front Desk - Very quick check-in and really friendly. They were also able to accomodate any room requests such as Mountain View, Business Plan, King Bed etc with ease. They were also ready to answer any questions or provide help when needed.

Rooms: I had a high floor Mountain View Room and wasnt dissapointed. The room had a very comfortable bed, plenty of hanging space and a bathroom with a powerful shower - what else would you want? Well you also get a minibar and a 32" LCD TV, wireless internet, pull out desk, 2 litres of water and a safe :-)

Hotel Facilities:

Strata - Lobby bar, very friendly staff with great service. Plenty of TV's around to catch the news or latest sports (there must be 20 tv's in that place!)

Perks - Coffee Shop (Starbucks) that also general items (Medication, newspapers, late night sandwiches etc) busy in the morning for obvious reasons, but well stocked and fully functional

Peaks Lounge - Bar on the 27th floor overlooking the Rockies, more intimate than Strata with lounge sofas and tables, great view of the Rockies and great staff for drinks in the evening.

Health Club - I only used this for the outdoor hot tub, which I used everynight. You can take drinks out there but they cannot be in glass. Its on Floor 5, you dont get the best view of the rockies because of a surrounding wall - but that does protect you from the wind whilst you soak

Overall Experience:

Great location for conferences ,and the downtown areas are a couple of blocks away. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again :-)

I stayed at the Hyatt during a recent conference and couldn't have been happier with the experience. The staff are extremely helpful and really go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The location is perfect for the convention center as well as easy walking distance to the 16th street mall and Larimer Square. Next time I am in Denver I will absolutely stay at the Hyatt Regency again.
