This stay was very average for the Hyatt. The checking-in process was amazingly easy (all online); however, there was a line almost to the door during the busy times in the afternoon. Obviously, there are some staffing issues that need to be addressed. The hotel is very busy during my stay; there were at least three other meetings besides my own.

Room service was quick and friendly, but I have to agree with the other reviewers who state the food is awful. I ate other food provided by the hotel during my meeting and found it to be equally mediocre. On the plus side, the coffee shop does a wonderful latte, and the staff there was excellent.

My room needed a new shower curtain (many rust stains) and the shower vent needed a thorough cleaning (caked with dust). I requested this be done after the first night, but it was never done. We also had to request for tolietries to be replaced which is a huge pet peeve of mine. Why is this so hard for housekeeping staff to do especially when there is a $5 tip sitting next to the empty bottles?

The bed was average. I liked the flat screen TV and the desk set up in the room. It was great for our laptop and eating room service.

The location is the main appeal of this hotel. I was so happy to be staying close by when I was hobbling along in high heels. It is a short walk to the 16th St mall and all the other fun downtown sights.

Stayed in this great hotel while I attended a convention at the convention center right across the street. The location is fine, can be seedy 2 blocks away - never felt unsafe. I usually stay in the LODO neighborhood when I visit. But this hotel is extrememly convenient to the convention center.

Found the staff to be extremely curtious and efficient. I was there for 5 nights - each of the nights the hotel was full. I never heard sounds from other rooms or the halls the whole time I was there. Room was very clean with full portico bathroom ammenities. Great views from my room on the 29th floor. I'm usually very picky about hotels and I must say, I couldn't find anything wrong with this property.

This is an excellent hotel in an very convenient location right next to the Colorado Convention Center. The hotel staff was very friendly (no mention of Priceline at check-in), the view from the room on the 17th floor was great, and the room itself was very well decorated.
One of the cool features of this hotel is in the elevators- they have video "wallpaper" which shows continuous scenes of a farm, a stream, etc.

I only have two complaints, one with the high end hotels in general, and one with the city of Denver. Why is it that the Holiday Inn can have free high speed internet, but you have to pay at the Hyatt, a far superior hotel?

And while $23/night is probably about right for valet parking, your other options are very limited. Although there is TONS of on-street parking in the area, for some reason (could it be to help out their buddies who own the hotels?) the city of Denver says "No Parking" at meters from 2am to 6 am (meters are read from 8 am to 10 pm). You can park across the street at a surface lot for $5 from 6 pm to 6 am, but at 6 am they start adding $2/hour up to a maximum of $16 I believe. So unless you want to leave your car across the street, move it to a meter at 6 am, and start paying at 8 am you're stuck with the valet.

Aside from the internet and parking issues, this was one of the finest hotels that I have stayed at!

  • Liked — Room decor, location, lobby layout
  • Disliked — Fee for internet, no free parking in area

Room: handsome, clean & comfortable.
View: Fantastic! (from the 26th floor; decent from the lower floors at least for now).
Location: Wonderful. On the light rail, near the free bus mall, and just 3 blocks from miles and miles of paved, dedicated bike/jogging trails along Cherry Creek.
Highlight: Rented from the Bike Doctor (9th & Broadway & biked to Cherry Creek North to browse art and eat). Little niche in room is bike sized so it was out of the way.
Dbl Deluxe: Paid extra for this. Sole benefit: higher floor so the view.
Indoor pool: Quite chilly. Hyatt can afford to heat their pool!
Hot tub: Perfect temp, outdoors, no view but still relaxing.
Food: Mediocre to terrible as follows:
Altitudes: Bagel & lox w/salmon had MAYBE a teaspoon of cream cheese on each muffin. Had to send back to get it right.
Peaks: Great view, nice drinks and friendlly service. Cheese plate just fine but the ceviche dish was the worst food I have ever eaten anywhere at any time (NO hyperbole!). My friend took one bite and headed for the bathroom. When we told the/a? Manager, they seemed uninterested and did not offer any recompense. It was removed from the bill but without apology or even sympathy. They insisted "Hyatt says it must be prepared this way". Imagine salsa mixed with a teaspoon of dogfood and old fish and you are headed in the right direction.
Front desk: All so very nice but their training seemed hit and miss.
In sum: I would stay again but not eat here.

Had a convention, so we booked here. What a great choice for not only convenience, but also a really clean room. This is one of the few hotel rooms where I haven't seen a dozen things that creeped me out, no matter what price we payed. The staff was very kind, and the room was immaculate. We were on the 31st floor I think, and it was a fine view. The room was very large, something that has begun to make me more comfortable over the years, especially if we have to stay for more than one or two days.

We had the breakfast buffet once at the restaurant, and it was fine, but overpriced. They had very dry salmon and the pancakes were cold and crusty. The server was kind.

The coffeeshop was very much appreciated, and a quick in and out in the morning before the convention days.

Parking very expensive, plus you need to tip the people who bring it back. We found creative choices both on the street and at public parking lots.

I would stay here again if we were in Denver.
