“Hidden Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

I had heard of the Kirkland Museum for years, but never visited. So sorry, as it is marvelous. A small area, but filled with amazing and fascinating objects: furniture, pottery, glass, art. Also liked that Kikland's studio was intact. One could spend hours there and still not see everything. The have docent tours which we missed, but I would love to return and take a tour.
Only point to keep in mind is that due to the salon style display, they do not allow children under 13.

“An interesting surprise.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

I knew very little of the artist Kirkland until my friend took me here last summer. Built in the southwest style this is where the artist lived and did his work. Very worthwhile for western art enthusiasts. You can also check out the Molly Brown House nearby.

“It was a neat art museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

I really liked the fact that you got to see how this artist setup to do his paintings. This is definitely not a collection of the "masters" classic art which is refreshing.

“What a delightful find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Thank you Trip Advisor!!! We have lived in this area a long time but I don't think we would have gone to this museum without hints from others on Trip Advisor. And what a little gem it is. The art of Kirkland is wonderful but all of the chairs, pottery, china and other objects are just so great to see and appreciate. I can't wait to take others to see it. We had a pleasant docent for the 1:30 tour, and I would recommend that for first time visitors

“Great surprise, even for locals”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013 via mobile

Not even my family, who lives in Denver, knew about this one. Thanks to fellow Tripsters for the tip. Fantastic art-deco collection, and Kirkland impressionist works. Very unique, intimate, quirky and low-key.

Enjoy!
