“Beer and Beef”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

Lunch on a Friday afternoon. Good food, good service. Great atmosphere with a little history thrown in for good measure. Check out the ship models which are replicas of actual ships from America's clipper period. Also, note the old ship's clock as you exit, if you don't know to look for it, you'll probably miss it.

“Excellent meal, excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

The title doesn't really come come close to describing the great meal and great service. Don our server was knowledgeable on every item on the menu to the tiniest detail and his recommended appetizer of lamb chops was right on the money. Great steak and a great beer recommendation made for a super meal.

“Good casual option”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013

The Ship Tavern is the kind of place (oddly) where you want a burger. It has the whole nautical thing going on and it's got a nice atmosphere. But for some reason, "burger" comes to mind. That's funny to me, given the name and themes. However, the service is good, the burgers are good and the home made chips were delight. The location is convenient and a good option for travelers. The burger at Elways is actually a little better, but the atmosphere at the Ship trumps it.

“Delicious hamburgers and prime rib.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013

One of Denver's oldest and best, always worth a visit with out of town guests. Great ambience, old-fashioned waitors, good food. Outstanding martinis.

“Nice atmosphere, nice food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013 via mobile

I visited on my own as I was staying downtown for a few days before heading to the mountains. No problem in getting a table as a single. The place was pretty full and I had a very good wedge salad followed by a superb risotto topped off by a scallop all washed down with a couple of glasses of Sonoma-Cutrer Chardonnay. My server was good although he misheard my appetiser request and arrived with clam chowder but that was quickly remedied! The one word of caution is don't expect the title "Ship Tavern" to mean you'll be eating in expensively. You won't but you should eat well
