My hubby and I spent the night here for a belated Valentines day celebration. The hotel was amazing from the beginning. We asked for a high floor room facing the mountaiins and we got it. The view was worth it alone. To see the city framed by the Rockies in the background was breath taking. I was a bit worried that due to the pretentious neighborhood the staff would follow suit and be able to tell that we were not big spenders. If they could they sure didn't act like it. There were kind, warm, inviting and accomodating at all turns. A truely amazing experience in this day and age of money buying you kindness. The room was lovely and well appointed. The extras pillows we asked for were there on checking. The bathroom was lovely including the most wonderul lighted makeup mirror and slippers to go with our robes. We ordered milk and cookies before dinner that were quite a treat. Also we had dinner at the resturant. It was ok, not the best meal I ever had but not the worst for sure. The somalier was great and took time to explain to me the in's and out's of Austrailian stickies(a dessert wine). Service was a bit slow since there was only us and 2 other couples eating. (we had to ask for drink refils)..but I can forgive something so minor. The rooms was VERY VERY quiet. Not a peep from the hall..no sounds of people above or below walking around..no water running no toilets flushing. Silence..perfect silence. It was a calm relaxing night for us. Just what we were looking for. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

My compliments to Marriott for such a well-run hotel. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. Check in/out and the valet parking service were very efficient. Evening service in the bar and breakfast both easily met expectations. The room was extremely clean and well-appointed, though I do agree with a previous reviewer that I expected it to be just a tad more upscale as a 'JW' property. The central Cherry Creek location was ideal for walking to nearby restaurants and shopping (we especially liked dinner at North, just half a block away). I do think it's a little pricey ($300/night), but we wanted to stay in Cherry Creek and it's by far the best neighborhood option (and perhaps the best overall Denver option). We'd go back without hesitation.

  • Liked — Perfect location, excellent service.
  • Disliked — A bit pricey, but it wouldn't keep me from returning.

During my summer vacation that i took with my best friend while staying one night in Denver, Colorado as a part of our Road Trip Across America, we chose to stay at one fancy and expensive hotel; this being the JW Marriott. The hotel's entrance was somewhat hard to find because its located on a private street that branches off of an eight lane road. The valet parking service was fantastic, but at $20 each day, your wallet will feel it! We stayed on the 11th floor which is the conceirge level giving us access to the private lounge which includes all the FREE food and drinks (yes alcoholic) that you want. It was a great place to relax after the concert we attended on the 18th of August, 2006. The room had the most comfortable beds that either of us had ever slept on which made the nearly $400 USD that we spent on the room worth while. The bathrooms are what seperates this hotel from all the others. All marble, seperate shower and bath, and free complimentary robes and slippers! For those who can afford this...and are willing to lay down some serious money for a serious hotel experience, the JW Marriott in Denver is the place to spend the night or a few nights for that matter; though just a few nights here may be the equivalent of your entire vacations budget. This was an easy 5 STAR HOTEL!

Overall a lovely hotel. The room was very attractive and the bathroom was exceptionally nice and spacious. The lobby and cocktail lounge were beautiful with excellent service.

The main flaw I find with most US hotel chains is the awful food that is served for breakfast. The coffee was pretty good and I was told my companion's omlette was excellent. Here are the things that were not good:
breads- mass produced and poor quality- not worth the carbs
pastries- dreadful, store bought stuff
hash browns- looked crisp and nicely browned but were inedible- I don't know how they got them that way- they tasted as though they had been made a wk before and reheated for 7 consecutive days- they were as hard as a rock and had a bad flavor
fruit salad- some of the berries were good, other fruits not so good.
Here are my suggestions: go for a European style breakfast with excellent breads and jams, hard boiled eggs, yoghurt, muesli, a few other cereals, top notch fruit, cheese selection, possibly some ham. Forgo the omlette station and hashbrowns and the help required to prepare those things and instead focus your energy on offering the best of the other items I've suggested. The Whole Foods Market is only one block away- send one of your employees over there every day for fresh breads and pastries. Sample your fruit and don't put it out if the quality is poor.

I can't give this property the highest rating because of the breakfast. At $200 per night the breakfast should be excellent and not mediocre.

Just stayed at this new J.W. Marriott for one night. It's in a great location right in the heart of Cherry Creek. The common areas are quite nice and you fell pretty removed from the hustle and bustle outside your door. The room was spacious and comfortable, and quite clean. The higher floors on the west and south have amazing views of the front range and downtown. The walls seemed to hold in noise well and couldn't hear any sounds from neighboring rooms.

I didn't eat at the restaurant or really use any of the amenities so I can't comment on that. The only downside is that it's a tad pricey, but that is to be expected given its location.
