Booked through Priceline for a quick stay in Denver for a wedding. This hotel is still going through renovations. I believe it may have been a Holiday Inn before. It has some great features, the lobby and conference rooms look great, and the breakfast bar was very nice. However, some of the not-so-nice features of the beat up Holiday Inn still show through the paint and recarpeting. Some doors to the pool seemed too beat up to work correctly (the card access). The exercise room is nice -- although pretty obviously it is a former pair of hotel rooms converted into an exercise room. While rooms have received paint and carpet, the vents, sinks and floors seem to show some battering from the old days. Rooms also smelled a bit stuffy. Halls are somewhat narrow, and the housekeeping staff held loud conversations in Spanish outside the door. At one point, as I was coming back to the room, the maid was frowning at her checklist, then proceeded to enter our room without announcing herself (my wife was inside). Fortunately I intervened but certainly this shows a problem.
Overall, the renovated Red Lion is not bad, but there are a few troublesome problems here and there that leave a bad taste in your mouth.
