It's only a short drive from downtown Denver to experience scenic mountain views. Take the time.

Quintessential Colorado! Really fabulous in the fall when the aspen leaves are gold!

“All of Colorado's life zones in a 100 miles.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2012

Do you want to see all of Colorado's life zones in one short trip, then travel up I-70 to the Evergreen Parkway and then go up the Mt Evans Scenic Byway at Bergen Park and come back through Idaho Springs. You can stop for lunch at Echo Lake Lodge for a scenic view of the Lake and hummingbirds. The road all the way to the top is open June through mid-Sept. During the rest of the year, there are magnificent views of the Rockys from Squaw Pass. There is a fee to drive all the way to the top.

“Amazing beauty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2012

What a unique road to one of Colorados highest peaks. In some parts it is like a thrill ride as the cliffs are steep and narrow. Highly recommend just don't bring a huge trailer as the road gets quite narrow. Also bring a jacket for the summit as the weather is dramatically different than at the base. Amazing to think they have a bike race up this giant

“The highest Paved Road in America”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2012

I have driven this road many times on the way to photograph nature on Mount Evans. The road is generally closed after the first snow in the fall until Memorial Day. The drive is fairly easy with a two wheel drive vehicle however there always a couple of places on the road that are always undergoing repair. Take it slow and watch out for oncoming vehicles. The highway is narrow.
