“Embassy Suites First Timer - Won’t be the last”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

We booked the Embassy Suites for a convention which occurred conveniently directly across the street. The hotel appears to be fairly new with a hip and zen like interior, extremely friendly and helpful car valets, a water feature in the lobby and a large breakfast and bar area with expansive seating. The room was quite large altho a little strange with the window for the living room portion of the suite on the corridor- the blinds were always drawn thereby making the window useless and the room dark. The bedroom portion had the large window with the view out. The room furnishings were somewhat generic and probably the least impressive part about the stay altho there was nothing wrong really. Having been traveling for a week, I did make use of the gym, business center and convenient and spotless laundry room which was clean and as pleasant as laundry could be.

The highlights of the 4 day visit were firstly, the extensive hot breakfast service including omelet station- kudos to the omelet chef! I’d put this breakfast up against many other chain’s offerings. The only downside to breakfast was the poorly designed coffee area, way to small and situated right where the line for the omelet station forms. Embassy Suites Management- this is an easy fix which would require a small amount of rearranging and really something that should be considered.

In the early evening, the hotel hosts a “happy hour” including some snacks and a very nice selection of beer and wine along with mixed drinks via an actual bartender, all gratis. A really nice way to unwind before dinner..

Other minor issues: The fitness center was a bit small for a hotel this size but better than some hotels and certainly busy during my stay. I don’t recollect using Wi-Fi as there was a handy business center across from the fitness center with 3 computers. Some guests did have issues with the printers, actually all 3 of them as I watched people frantically trying everything to print with no luck. One morning, the elevators went down which is understandable. The staff did their best to usher people to the freight elevator but many guests found using the exit stairs and the signage for them totally confusing. I really hope with the signage (like doors that read “STAFF ONLY” which are really exit doors) that in the case of a real emergency, that no one is hurt. Embassy Suites should look into this as should the Denver fire marshal.

With all these seemingly pejorative comments, I would still highly recommend the hotel. All in all a great stay for a convention and I’d say well suited for a family stay also.

All the amenities of a business hotel with room to spread out for families. The hotel has a bit of a split personality, but wears it well. It's right across from the convention center, but also an easy walk to shops and restaurants. The vibe in the lobby is a little at odds due to the mix of convention goers reading their morning Wall St. Journal along side families playing games over breakfast.

The rooms and amenities are all what you'd expect from a top class business hotel. Everything was clean and well appointed. It probably goes without saying, but the rooms are spacious. The indoor pool is pretty small, but enough to take a dip at the end of a day if you so desire. I missed the evening happy hour, but breakfast had plenty of options and everything was fresh and well prepared.

Not surprisingly for a downtown hotel - valet parking is very expensive. There are a couple surface lots nearby that are a bit more reasonable if you are looking for options.

Room Tip: Since it's downtown, I tend to prefer higher rooms to keep distance from the street noise, but t...

This is a newer and very nice Embassy Suites. It is directly across the street from the convention center and 2 blocks from 16th street mall and Larimer. The Happy Hour and breakfast re complimentary and very good. Very very nice property that I will stay at again. The only negative was that the elevators were slow and the check in/dining is on the 4th floor so you have to take the elevators up/down from there (or stairs). The water pressure in the shower was also very light.

Excellent staff, very comfortable rooms, two adults and two kids (5 & 7), swimming pool, restaurant and bar, friendly staff love it, fair price.
We moved from Residence Inn Marriot at Zunni to the Embassy Suite, just one night at the residence inn and we just want to run from the place.

Everything was wonderful. We stayed for 3 nights and we were so glad to have chose this hotel. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful as well as the evening snacks. They were very accomodating to the kids as well. I did like the fitness center as well. We did eat at the restaurant and it was wonderful! The only suggestion i would have is to have housekeeping come at a more convenient time for the guests.

Great time at Denver with a few thousand of my friends. Would recommend the Embassy Suites downtown for location, food and overall great stay at a world class hotel. With about 7000 people at the convention center it was great to only have to cross the street to get to the hotel. Also, downtown has many entertainment locations along with great dining locations, all within walking distance of the hotel. This made the stay even more enjoyable as there was no need for taxi's or a rental car.
