“Lots of animals”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2011

We went to the zoo on one of the last nice days before it snowed 8 inches in Denver. It was 80 that day, and the zoo was packed. It was hard to find parking, but we were able to park in the parking garage. It was a nice one, that goes 3 stories underground. The zoo requires lots of walking, the animals are all spread out, and it doesn't go in a circle. There's lots of zigging and zagging back and forth to see all the animals. They're also building a huge Asian Tropics area that should be done next year I think. They have a bunch of big cats, a couple bears, elephants, giraffes, seals, all kinds of animals. The food is overpriced like most other zoos, but has a wide variety of foods to choose from. The veggie salad was delicious.

“Great zoo with expansion in process”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2011

Parking is free and admission during the 'high' season was $13 adults and $8 for children.

Overall, this is a very nice zoo that will be made even better with the addition of the Asian Tropics which is currently under construction. This zoo has been well kept over the past 15 years and was clean and fairly easy to navigate. They have a good variety of animals, some that I've not seen at other zoos.

As expected, food and trinket prices were high. You are allowed to bring in food and beverages, so save some money and bring a bottle of water and a snack for the kids (no straws or glass items allowed).

The zoo is great fun and a great way to spend a day for children and adults alike.

“Well worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2011

Nice and compact to walk around we went on 3rd November and it was covered in snow we loved it. The polar bears and Grizzlies as well as the tigers were the highlight for us. We come from the UK and it was nice to see different animals that we have in our zoos:)

“One of the nicest Zoos in the country and one of Denver's top attractions.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2011

Young or old, visitors will enjoy the Denver Zoo. It is a clean friendly place with a large variety of animals and exhibits. The animals are well cared for and so are the grounds and gardens. We enjoyed the Primate Panoram as much for the foliage as the animals.
A new addition will be opening in the Spring, Asian Tropics. It is a state of the art facility for the animals as well as for zoo visitors and promises to be quite an attraction.
Whether you have an hour or several to spend walking, looking and relaxing, the Denver Zoo is an excellent place to visit.

“Great Zoo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2011

This zoo is one of the better ones in the country. Not as great as St. Louis or San Diego, but a decent zoo with easy parking and admission is not too bad. One day a month or so they are free. Those days are packed though.
