We paid $380/night, with mixed experience. On the one hand, I would like to commend the staff as very friendly and clearly trying hard to accommodate most every request. For example, the concierge personally went out and found a particular bottle of wine I wanted presented in the room prior to my partner's arrival, which was earlier than mine. Everyone from the front desk to the front door were friendly and generally helpful. So why not a high rating? First, the staff was all young and clearly inexperienced, so even when trying, they would get some things wrong, and did not communicate well with each other. Mix ups included not sending an important business fax, and messing up the timing of a massage around availability of the room. Since they did not have the room ready in time (which was understandable except that they made the reservations), they rebooked the masseuse. This would be okay, but not when they added both massages to the bill. Even this wouldn't have been so bad, but they agreed that it was their mix up and reversed the charge, only to call back AFTER WE HAD RETURNED FROM VACATION to insist on adding the charge back on. Other bothersome things included room keys that just would not work. We had 7 key replacements over a 3 night stay, and by the time we left, of the two keys we had, only one worked. The room was also not quite up to expectations. The main disappointment was cleanliness. The one chair in the room (there was also a small sofa) was so dirty it wasn't comfortable to use. There were also subtle but noticeable black smudge marks on the ceiling, where it looked liked someone in maintenance had worked on lighting and the curtains. Unless you are used to the sounds of the city, be aware that their remodel of this older building did not include replacing the windows, so you get the full sound transfer that single pain glass gives you from busy city streets. I would still recommend this hotel if you can get a good deal, but not at the price we paid.

I travelled a lot to Denver and always heard the rave about Teatro.

But I fail to see what the fuss is all about. Average hotel, and not as convenient location as some other hotels.

I stayed in the "Petite" room. They weren' t kidding. Smallest hotel room ever.

The bathroom was very nice and actually bigger than the bedroom. The TV was up on high shelf at the end of the bed like you'd see in a dorm room, and hardly enough room for a laptop - so no good for business.

Can't comment on the other size rooms - but if all they have left is Petite then give it a miss unless you are less than 4 feet tall.

Other than the room, didn't find anything unusually compelling about Teatro - I guess I still fail to see the attraction.

i may be moving to this hotel! they open the door for you, the elevators work great(it's only 9 stories) and the limo will take you where you want to go. when you awake there are four newspapers at your door, awesome aveda products, views of the rockies, a comfortable bed, a $500 adjustable shower head and plenty of lush towels. that's not all - now the good part. downstairs there is both an incredible 5 star restaurant and a cafe bar. in the cafe you may eat a delicous breakfast sipping illy expressos while reading all those newspapers! at night it is the spot to meet and have a drink(good tequila) before the theatre or whatever. Perfect location in the center of downtown!

None of the negatives that I read in other reviews of Teatro applied to me. The service was OUTSTANDING. From getting me a cup of coffee at 6AM after my morning run, to offering to drive me everywhere with the hotel car---I like walking so I politely refused. I arrived early--way early---9AM and they offered to see if they could check me into a room. I had an appointment so they stored my bag and then called me twice to let me know the room was ready even though I did not get back until late that night. I did request a room away from an elevator---a tip I picked up reading other review and they were able to make this happen. The door men were terrific, friendly and had great advice on places to eat and run. As for the room, fine it was small, but very comfortable. Great sheets---high thread count. The only negative were that the pillows (2) were a bit small for me. I stayed for two nights and was sad to leave. If you are a runner this hotel is for you since the Cherry Creek running path is two blocks away. A starbucks coffee is also within 2 blocks as is a 7-eleven to purchase water/snacks. From the airport the cab ride is 50 dollars. The food was terrific in the bar, I had both breakfast and lunch....also the hotel is a short walk (5 mins) to the convention center. Given the stale nature of the other hotels in the area, this is a terrific place. It was also totally full for both nights that I was there.

I was in Denver for a job interview and the ad agency put me up there. The room wasn't ready at noon so I enlisted the concierge who was great at pointing out some local spots to walk to. When I came back, my room was ready but my bag was nowhere to be found. Major faux pas for any hotel not to have the bag waiting in the room. Once in the room, I was pleasantly surprised at the nice marble foyer and lighting. The room was a small but space was used well. The carpet, while not stained, was pretty deteriorated for what is billed as "Denver's Best Hotel." The tall windows were a nice treat but again, at such a so-called great hotel, the frames inside needed a serious repaint. The bathroom was a nice size and the tub and fixtures were awesome. I didn't take advantage of the bath concierge or whatever they call it, but I did relax in the tub. The shower was yet one more disappointment. They have the same open door deal in most Park Hyatts have but the seals sucked and my bathroom floor would be FLOODED with water. Plus, they have the overhead waterfall showerheads which I hated but I can see the value people see in them, just not my cup of tea. Give me a Speakman showerhead and I'm happy. Anyway, the bathroom was a mess and that needs to be fixed and addressed. Plus, there was a hot/warm surge continuously and this was noted at check-out (not for any discounts, just as an FYI to them).

Now, despite me complaining, the hotel is quite nice and the people are super accomodating. For the non-anal-retentive, non-Aman/Four Seasons junkies, this hotel will be a welcome respite from the cookie cutters in town. If you're a Park Hyatt/Peninsula junkie, you'll hate it...or at least nit pick it.

C+.
