My wife and I stayed at El Teatro and were not terribly impressed, we actually felt a bit underwhelmed, after all the hype and great things we read. So, I'm really happy to report that we got a killer deal to stay at El Teatro from HOTWIRE, otherwise I'd be writing this review in a very dissapointed mind set. For $100 bucks a night, good deal. Nice rooms, well appointed and clean, loved the bed, decent thread count on sheets, down comforter, slept well. But the room needs some updating. Tube t.vs on swivel pull out, in room movies are on an old VHS system, so you cannot pause the movie. We went to the concierge and asked for a recommendation for dinner, we took the valet (very convenient and very nice driver) who dropped us off at the front door of the restaurant, but when we inquired for a table, they simply said they were sold out and there was no chance of us getting a seat (we figured the conceierge may have thought of this before sending us to the restaurant with no reservations, but she didn't, and that soured my taste.) Brunch at Prima one of the onsite restaurants was delicious, "braised rabbit over polenta" Great dish. The property location was right down town and it's a very short walk to the 16th street mall and several great restaurants. If you go you must go to "Alto" it's about three blocks from El Teatro, the food is EXCELLENT, as well as the service and they had a live jazz band playing, the mango mojito was super refreshing.
I think the Hyatt Regency in LoDo is where it's at. El Teatro didn't do it for me. Unless I paid less than a hundred bucks a night, I would not consider El Teatro in the future.
The Hotel Teatro was an awesome experience.
From the moment the cab pulled up and the bellman opened our door -- the consistency of stellar service never wavered. Every employee provided exemplary service with a warm, genuine smile. Frankly, it's uncommon in the hospitality service unless you're at a well-known high-end chain brand.
Additionally, the rooms, the comfort, the quality, the overall ambiance of decor is one that everyone should hope to experience when staying in Denver. I encourage everyone to be so lucky and book at Hotel Teatro.
The hotel is very nice, beautiful with great restaurants and luxury rooms. I definitely was happy to come back here at the end of a long day of meetings. There's a large building (~30 stories) being built across 14th Street. The foundation's being poured now (early Jan 2008), so if construction bothers you, ask for a room on the back of the hotel for the next year or so.
My husband and I stayed for 2 nights at this wonderful boutique hotel. We travel extensively around the world, and are very finicky. We were delighted with the service and support at this beautiful hotel. The room was well appointed, and the bathrooms luxurious. We were taken by van wherever we wanted in the vicinity, a nice touch for out of towners. The area has many interesting restaurants. Breakfast in the hotel dining room was delicious- the oatmeal was just how we make it at home. The concierge was knowledgeable. We were given complimentary wine and chocolate truffles sent by the manager. Since we usually stay at the Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton, we were hesitant about this property, but would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Denver- especially since the Performing Arts Center is right across the street!
