Hotel Teatro is a boutique hotel adjacent to Denver's Center for the Performing Arts. Although my husband and I reside in Denver, we recently reserved a junior suite via the hotel's website to celebrate our anniversary. The hotel was sold out on both Friday and Saturday nights, so we decided to stay just Sunday night.
Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to the lovely and spacious 8th floor apartment. It included a kitchenette (w/expresso & coffee maker), king bed in a sleeping alcove, entertainment area w/music and movie DVD's; and small bathroom--all beautifully decorated. The mountain views were absolutely breathtaking. Although we could hear some elevator noise in the room, sleeping was not a problem. Trains COULD be heard, however, and better-insulated windows would prevent this.
We dined before the theater at Kevin Taylor's at the Opera (the Kevin Taylor Restaurant in the hotel is closed Sundays). The food was delicious and beautifully presented (appetizers were tuna and carpaccio and we both ate the duck). Unfortunately, restaurant service was average, at best.
The hotel's concierge was knowledgeable and courteous. The front desk resolved a mischarge problem promptly. Breakfast room service was delicious and timely (at prices typical of room service).
All in all, our stay was delightful and we look forward to returning. The upgrade to the apartment was REALLY special.
