On a recent trip to Denver to research hotels for my wedding guests to stay at, My Mom and I were excited to check out the Hotel Monaco as we had read many great reviews about it. Upon entering we were greeted by a Hotel Manager that welcomed us to the Hotel & offered us a free glass of wine, which we thought was very nice. So immediately, our impression was very positive. After we spoke to the man at the front desk though, we were pretty turned off from staying there. We asked him about the rooms, and what they were like for what price etc. so that we could get an idea for our out of town guests. He was not very friendly, and very rudely told us that "he could not quote exact prices" and that we would just have to contact his "Marketing Manager" for further information. I told him that I was just trying to compare & contrast the different ammenities that they offer in comparison to other nearby hotels & he was just overall rude & was not willing to really explain anything or try to "sell" the hotel in any way. I then asked him if it would be a huge inconveniece to actuallly look at a regular room & a suite just to get an idea of what they were like. He actually rolled his eyes & said "let me see what I could do". After much hestitation , he finally offered us a key to a room to check out. He was just overall very rude & we decided on that first encounter to not stay or put our guests at that hotel ever. First impressions can really make a huge difference!
