My husband and I just returned from our trip to Denver and our stay at the Hotel Monaco Denver. We loved this hotel! We heard one dog bark when we were in a hallway, and otherwise the hotel was very quiet. The hotel staff is so efficient and a lot of fun. The hotel is in the heart of downtown in a great location and it is very safe to walk around even at night. The location is 1 block away from the wonderful 16th Street Pedestrian Mall. We will be recommending this hotel to all our friends who go to Denver. There is even a great restaurant attached to the hotel.
We also enjoyed our goldfish.

After reading reviews on TA, I decided to stay at the Hotel Monaco while visiting Denver.
It was the perfect choice. From the minute we checked in, until the time we checked out, every member of the hotel staff went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. In addition, the room rate we received online through the hotel was a bargain.
The concierge on the morning we were leaving took care of booking our boarding passes for our flight the next day. She was a peach.
I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Denver.

I deliberated over whether to stay at the Hotel Monaco or the Hotel Teatro but chose the Monaco because I was able to get a better deal there. I am sure that the Teatro would have been a great choice too but we really loved the Hotel Monaco. The lobby is beautiful and the rooms and hallways are funky and spotless. We had a king size room and it was not huge but it was perfect for us and it was also very quiet. We were on the side facing the parking lot which was not the greatest view but again, it was quiet. Everyone was courteous, friendly and always willing to help answer any questions. My wife and I also loved having the goldfish in the room. It's a neat idea for a very "pet friendly" hotel to offer that to its guests. The location is perfect as others have noted since you are two blocks from the 16th St. Mall and only 6 blocks to the ball park. After attending the ballgame, we went back to the Panzano restaurant at the hotel and they were closing down the kitchen but the manager in charge made sure that we could get some food. It was just another example of a hotel that really cares about their guests. I admittedly wasn't thrilled with the valet parking costs of $26/day but they were extremely prompt in retrieving the car when we needed it and again, the Monaco employees handled this function with courtesy and professionalism. Our only complaint was that one of the reasons that influenced our decision as to where to stay was the happy hour. Unfortunately, on our first day, there were so many persons there waiting for the "freebies" that there was no place to sit and all of the food was quickly gone. The wine was also not the greatest but as someone else mentioned, when it's free why complain. Believe me when I say that this was only a very minor irritant. It is really a fine hotel with a very caring staff and I would certainly recommend this hotel to others visiting Denver.

Tremendous hotel in downtown Denver, a block away from the 16th St. Pedestrian Mall area, and all that offers in dining and entertainment. I usually stay at the Westin Tabor Center in Denver, but decided to give this place a try as I had heard good things. I was not disapointed, and will definitely stay here again on my next visit. The room I had was double the size of the rooms @ the Westin, and much more up to date. The staff was very attentive and polite. As an aside, there is no self parking. However, the garage the valet uses is litterally two buildings away @ the Residence Inn. Park yourself and save $15 a day, and have access to your vehicoe when ever you need to get into it. Also, as an aside I had my 5 yeaar old with me and he thought it was awesome to have a goldfish brought up to our room. It kept him entertained for quite awhile.

This is such a fun and funky little downtown hotel! The staff is really really nice and helpful. People with pets will LOVE this hotel! The rooms remind me of something out of Alice in Wonderland! The on site restaurant Panzano is also fantastic! Try the Eggs Benedict (with a twist) for breakfast!
Just a short 2 block walk to 16th St. Mall and you are in the middle of all of the action! Paying 26 a day for parking is a little much I think but seems to be the normal in downtown Denver hotels. Free wireless internet, a wine reception in the evening complete with chair massages--a perfect end to the day (or beginning to the evening!).
