“Very Impressed by this Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

A couple friends and myself went to Denver for the weekend and found this hotel online. From the minute you pull into the hotel, the Valet staff was very courteous and helpful. The checkin process was very quick and the rest of the staff very helpful. I was blown away by the rooms. Very elegant and adequately appointed. This Hotel is right in the middle of everything and easy to go everywhere on foot. Down stairs is a restaurant I believe the name is Panzinis or something like that. They have great food and drinks. I highly recommend this hotel if your ever in Denver.

Room Tip: All rooms are actually very nice. Get the ones facing the street

Stayed at the Monaco while in town for business meetings. The staff was great and the room was very nicely appointed. The hotel is close to restaurants and entertainment. The 5 PM wine and appetizer hour is very nice as well.

We stayed here for one night last Saturday. We were in town for 2 Rockies games and wanted to be close to the ballpark. The hotel is located 8 blocks from the stadium and 1 block from 16th St. Mall.
We were very impressed with our stay. Everyone from the valet to the various housekeepers we encountered were very nice and everyone said hello. Every questioned we asked about how to get to various locations was answered very easily.
The hotel is very nice, beyond our expectations, very clean and looks to be remodeled.
We stayed in a double room with a walk in shower at the end of the hall on the 3rd floor.
Some people have complained about noise, but there was none. We came in around midnight and went to bed and we heard one couple walk down the hall and that was it. We also liked the room darkening shades, we woke up at 9AM and thought it was still dark.
We had breakfast in the restaurant, which was a bit pricey, but VERY good.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat and have already recommended it to many of our friends. To the Monaco-we will see you again for some more games...Go Rockies!

We were lucky enough to spend one night at the lovely Hotel Monaco in Denver, and could easily have stayed another couple of days. From the moment we drove up to the curb, the welcome was warm and genuine, and everyone was so helpful. We were also lucky enough to be upgraded upon check in, so that was an extra treat! Even without the upgrade, we could not have asked for more. The decor is crazy, fun, and completely different from any other Kimpton hotel, which is one of the things we love about them. Each reflects the city where it's located, and you never feel like you're in a cookie cutter corporate hotel. The location could not have been better, right in the middle of downtown, easy walking to everything. The evening happy hour was in full swing, even on Memorial Day Monday, and a very nice coffee service in the morning for anyone checking out early - they will even pack you a breakfast to go. Which brings us to another reason we love to stay at Kimpton hotels; the great restaurants they always have, and Panzano was no exception. We enjoyed breakfast there before checking out, and our only regret is that we didn't have a camera to capture the beautiful dishes that were delivered (and quickly devoured!). If you have a choice, DO NOT SKIP breakfast at Panzano, and at least one person should order the pancakes. Really, they're that good! Perfect service, perfectly prepared, and generous portions. What a breakfast should be! Bottom line, if you have a chance to stay at Kimpton, do it!

Spent one night in Denver on way to Colorado Springs for a wedding. Location is great if you want to be downtown. We parked car and walked to various sites and restaurants. Room was just the right size and even though it overlooked a main street - no street noise! Staff was pleasant and answered all questions as to location of art museum, capital and restaurants. The extras, like wine and snacks in the afternoon were a nice touch. Hotel is dog friendly for those of you with dogs. Several were in the lobby area. We would definitely stay again.

Going to Denver for a work conference, my husband and I opted to stay at the Hotel Monaco instead of the conference hotel. I like Kimptons, and chose to make life better.

I reserved a room directly with Kimpton, and used the Best Rate Guarantee to match a lower price from a 3rd party. You might think using a discount would result in a lesser room, but you'd be wrong. When I arrived I was told I'd been upgraded to a suite, and because I used to the Best Rate Guarantee I received bonus credit for food and beverage on this stay.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is uniformly hospitable and a joy to interact with. I don't know where Kimpton finds such lovely happy people.

My suite was perfect. It is similar to other Kimpton suites I've stayed in - a very adequate bathroom, a comfortable living room with sofa, chairs, television and desk, and a very generous bedroom with a king size bed and a second television, and large windows overlooking the street. Other Kimpton suites have sliding doors between the rooms, whereas this has curtains, which I never needed to use. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I could not have been more happy with the suite overall. I never wanted to leave.

There is a daily social hour from 5 - 6 in the large and very handsome lobby, featuring wine, sangria, snacks and even neck and shoulder massages all at no cost. It's lively and fun, and there are many seating areas in the lobby so you can be comfortable in a large or small group, or just on your own. There is a courtesy coffee bar in the mornings. There is a fitness center on the 5th which is in a nice space, though the equipment is pretty basic. As a loyalty program member I had free (and flawless) wifi.

I did not use room service, though it looked good, and the Monaco offers *Breakfast With Wings* - with 15 minutes notice a to-go breakfast will be waiting for you at the front desk.

The location is a pretty standard downtown area. The 16th Street Mall is a couple of blocks away, which is a long strip of chain stores, with a free streetcar that runs in both directions every few minutes. This was very helpful in getting to and from my conference hotel. The Monaco is within easy walking distance of some of Denver's best restaurants, including Rioja and Euclid Hall, which were both exceptional.

The hotel restaurant is Panzano, where I did eat based on the positive reviews. It serves modern northern Italian cuisine and does a good job. The restaurant itself is somewhat eclipsed by its own happy hour, which is really worthwhile - many plates for as little as $4 each.

Staying at the Hotel Monaco was an extraordinarily good choice and I highly recommend it for anyone staying in Denver.

This property is well located in the heart of downtown activity. Rooms are a little small but well appointed...they more than make up for the small rooms with the little extras...like afternoon free cocktails, snacks and messages. In the morning a nice coffee bar is available and water is always available. The staff is about as good as you will find. A little caution in that this is a very pet friendly hotel which was fine with us but if you get next to a room with a critter you may hear a bark or two. This was just a cool experience with all the "extras" making you feel more like a guest than a revenue source. Kuddos to the management team and staff for see that there is a difference.

Room Tip: Splurge for a Suite upgrade.
