This was my second stay at this property. The first visit was this summer while I was traveling alone and had a room with a king sized bed. That room was fine and so I booked another stay for this past weekend, this time with my husband and two teens. We are faithful Marriott brand users and always try to book when available. Let's just say that I'm going to the Westin next trip.
Because it was a family vacation, I upgraded us to the Penthouse Suite, mostly because the hotel website made it sound so appealing. Let me tell you that there was some big-time exaggerating going on on Marriott's website.
The 2 rooms were spartan in decor and furnishings--very '70s and not in a good way. The bathroom, though complete with the promised jacuzzi, was tiny tiny tiny and reminded me of a Super 8 bathroom.
The promised large furnished patio overlooking the 16th Street Mall was there--but sadly covered in 6 inches of non-scooped snow, so we couldn't even walk outside and look over the downtown area as planned. The sliding door latch was broken and it took a trip from maintenance before we could even open the door (necessary because the room was blazing hot).
Really, I am outraged that we paid $289 for a one night stay in this room. I will never stay at this property again--we were ripped off and I'm writing Marriott to tell them so.
