It was our very first trip to America and one of our "stopping" places was Denver for a week. I plucked the name out of a travel book as I hadn't any idea of Denver. It was a lovely surprise. The Holiday Inn suited us perfectly. We didn't want to have a very expensive stay as we were there for 6 nights, but our accommodation was excellent. The hotel had laundry facilities which were excellent. The swimming pool was good and clean. The whole hotel gave off a "clean" feeling. The staff behind Reception, restaurant and cleaning were marvellous. Nothing was too much trouble. All requests were met with courtesy. Breakfast was great particularly as to where we had stayed in other places we had to put up with polystyrene plates, beakers and plastic cutlery - it was a pleasure to have china and proper cutlery.
The Holiday Inn was ideally suited for the 16th Street Mall (a block away)and in the middle of every form of night life if wanted. Also the Grayline tours picked us up at the hotel without extra cost. Marvellous. For us the hotel was luxurious but without the "luxurious" price. Just right for our pocket.
