My mom and I had decieded to plan a trip to denver, and chose to stay at the lowes hotel. we were pleasantly surprised by the overly helpful staff and the wonderful rooms. from the first moment we walked through the door we were greeted by what seemed like the entire staff! the lady at the front desk was very helpful, the concierce's Dan and Mercedes were so helpful and willing to go out of their way to help us find different resturants and other locations. my mom and i also really enjoyed the rooms, they were very sophisticated but had a feeling of being at home, the perfect combo for a room. A major plus was that the beds are very very comfortable and they give you 4 different kinds of pillows depending on what you like. Because the hotel room, and staff were so above and beyond what we expected it definitley made leaving denver much harder!!! I'm from california and i don't think i've ever stayed at such a wonderful hotel as the denver lowes. I would def reccommed this hotel for anyone that's planning to visit denver, whether you are traveling business, or on a family trip, lowes will make sure that you have a most enjoyable vacation.

I agree with the May 6 reviewer, who wrote "Although the hotel wasn't far from Cherry Creek it felt a world away. The neighboorhood was not dangerous but was borderline. It probably wouldn't be appropriate to walk outside the grounds alone at night. " Indeed.

The place looks tired, its Tuscany theme is tired, and it is time to join the 21st century. This is a business hotel, and its competition is way ahead of it. My room was outdated, somewhat worn (though clean), and the TV was ancient compared to the flat-screens I have recently seen in comparable hotels. It is time for a full scale renovation, Loews! Even the woodwork in the elevator (not to mention the faux Tuscan mural in the elevator lobby) look cheesy.

I ate in the Tuscan Bar for dinner and the food was OK, but the service, if friendly, was inept (note to Loews: servers should speak SOME English).

The woman at the front desk who checked me in was lovely, though, and the VIP lounge on the top floor was a nice touch (I was able to print my boarding pass for my return flight via the internet).

All in all, somewhat of a disappointment.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, from the valets to the front desk staff to the room service waiters to the maintenance people. Everyone was more than happy to go above and beyond to make my stay that much better (something hard to find these days in an age of zero customer service). As an example, one night I ordered a movie on the TV and I couldn't get the remote to work right with it. The front desk sent a maintenance guy up at 10pm(!) to look at it and bring another remote. It ended up being more hassle than it was worth (to me) so they just took the movie off my bill. I did think the room service, was less than great. My food was cold and more expensive than what I would have paid downstairs (plus the service charge plus the gratuity). The waiters, however were wonderful and this slight problem should be no reflection on them.
I thought the location was perfect for me...close to restaurants and the things I needed to be close to (friends, University Hospital, Cherry Creek), but I can understand that for some other people this might not work as well.
The rooms were lovely (the bed especially!!). The bathrooms were also very well done, I just would have liked a bigger, soaking tub. Again, a very minor thing that wouldn't deter me from staying here again! If you are thinking of staying here, check out the Loew's website and sign up for their frequent traveller program (before you go!). You can get special perks like free breakfasts and/or mini-bar credit or a bottle of wine in your room.

Having enjoyed staying in Loews hotels in other parts of the country, I was very pleased to find one in the Cherry Creek area of Denver. Unfortunately, it seemed like this particular Loews hotel was decorated in the 80's and then corporate forgot it existed. Not only was the decor outdated, but the entire hotel - especially my room - looked worn and somewhat dirty. The bedding was attractive but it was "dry clean only" that felt like it hadn't been cleaned in years. It just isn't practical or sanitary for a hotel, and it's the precise reason why so many hotels use duvet covers and / or white down filled comforters.

Although the hotel wasn't far from Cherry Creek it felt a world away. The neighboorhood was not dangerous but was borderline. It probably wouldn't be appropriate to walk outside the grounds alone at night.

Loews has some wonderful hotels and because I'm familiar with some of them my expectations were high. If it were a three star Hilton rather than a four star Loews I would have little complaint.

This is our fourth stay at the Denver Loews, and will keep coming back. We usually stop in Denver on our way to the mountains for our skiing vacations and again on our way home. We have 2 small children and we always have something to do in Denver.
I have read other comments about the bad location, but in our case, I would disagree. It has a great location if you plan to spend some time with the family at the Natural Science, IMAX, the Zoo, Dave and Busters, etc. It is also close to the Cherry Creek shopping mall, (my wife asks me to point out that is not only desirable, but strategic).
About the hotel: One of the best staffs I have encountered, period. Everybody does their best to assist you. Examples: The reception manager accommodated upsells for two other friends and their families at Loews special rates (obviously they are now members of their frequent customer program). The waiters at their Restaurant had all the patience and were very friendly with a party of 6 children and 6 adults, setting up a special table for the kids and sending complimentary snacks for them, and so forth. Even the kids received a toy at our check in.
I always book a 2 queen bed room and ask for an upsell at check in time. I consider this an excellent deal, comparing it to many other suites ($$$) we have stayed in the US and abroad. The Jr suite is great as the kids get their own TV and sofa bed on a separate room, and we get an extra hour to sleep in the morning; furniture and linens are nice, they provided free access to internet, sent a bottle of wine, provided free continental breakfast, etc.
I have to mention that we stayed again after our skiing trip, and on the day we were leaving, they Loews had a water pipe burst in the lobby, close to the elevators. Every member of the hotel acted immediately to assist on this contingency, all the staff was helping and redirecting the guests to the service elevators. There was no way of getting mad or frustrated, as they all wore perfect smiles and really felt sorry for the inconvenience, practically taking us by the hand and being very helpful. Finally we had an incident with one of our bags that was not carried to the car and was left behind. I noticed this until I got to the airport. As soon as I got home I called them. Their concierge took care of everything and sent our bag (all the way to Mexico) at their expense.
I want to thank all the staff and congratulate them for their effort and excellent service. When possible, I stay at the Four Seasons or the Ritz Carlton, and I can tell you they could learn a thing or two from this staff.
