This is our fourth stay at the Denver Loews, and will keep coming back. We usually stop in Denver on our way to the mountains for our skiing vacations and again on our way home. We have 2 small children and we always have something to do in Denver.
I have read other comments about the bad location, but in our case, I would disagree. It has a great location if you plan to spend some time with the family at the Natural Science, IMAX, the Zoo, Dave and Busters, etc. It is also close to the Cherry Creek shopping mall, (my wife asks me to point out that is not only desirable, but strategic).
About the hotel: One of the best staffs I have encountered, period. Everybody does their best to assist you. Examples: The reception manager accommodated upsells for two other friends and their families at Loews special rates (obviously they are now members of their frequent customer program). The waiters at their Restaurant had all the patience and were very friendly with a party of 6 children and 6 adults, setting up a special table for the kids and sending complimentary snacks for them, and so forth. Even the kids received a toy at our check in.
I always book a 2 queen bed room and ask for an upsell at check in time. I consider this an excellent deal, comparing it to many other suites ($$$) we have stayed in the US and abroad. The Jr suite is great as the kids get their own TV and sofa bed on a separate room, and we get an extra hour to sleep in the morning; furniture and linens are nice, they provided free access to internet, sent a bottle of wine, provided free continental breakfast, etc.
I have to mention that we stayed again after our skiing trip, and on the day we were leaving, they Loews had a water pipe burst in the lobby, close to the elevators. Every member of the hotel acted immediately to assist on this contingency, all the staff was helping and redirecting the guests to the service elevators. There was no way of getting mad or frustrated, as they all wore perfect smiles and really felt sorry for the inconvenience, practically taking us by the hand and being very helpful. Finally we had an incident with one of our bags that was not carried to the car and was left behind. I noticed this until I got to the airport. As soon as I got home I called them. Their concierge took care of everything and sent our bag (all the way to Mexico) at their expense.
I want to thank all the staff and congratulate them for their effort and excellent service. When possible, I stay at the Four Seasons or the Ritz Carlton, and I can tell you they could learn a thing or two from this staff.

This hotel was very nice, prompt and friendly service starting at the front door. The location is average, but you are maybe 2 miles from the Cherry Creek area, so it's tolerable. A big plus for those of us who are dog lovers, Loews is a dog friendly hotel!! It was great to see some four-legged friends while away from my own!
I would recommend it and stay there again.

The Lowes in Denver is very clean and quiet. The rooms are nicely appointed. If you become a member of their Loews club when you make a reservation you have a choice of your welcome package.... newspaper or wine and cheese/fruit and of course at night there is the turn down service with the chocolate on the pillow. The Lowes is the nicest hotel located to The University of Denver Campus, and they have parent rates. It is great!

The rooms were not as luxurious as we were expecting, but the foyer and bar were lovely and the service was good. "Mountain view" is a bit of a stretch. We asked for a mountain view and got "parking lot-then city-then roadway-then waaaay in the distance mountain" view. The neighborhood looks like a 7-11 would be right at home.
All that said, we still thought it was a fine place to stay.

The front foyuer is the only thing this hotel has going for it, from then on in its all down hill. Upon entering the non smoking-king bed room, booked 4 weeks before the visit, the room smelt of stail smoke and there were ashtrays on the side board, so we asked front desk for a non-smoking room, we were told that they cannot gaurentee non-smoking rooms even if it is supposed to be non-smoking so beware, being a very busy hotel, obviously business travellers, they didn't have much to offer, what they did have was a queen room with an flimsy internal door next to a smoking room, old dirty linen and noisey A/C just sealed the deal and we left for the nearby sheraton which was much better and cheaper. The staff were very uninterested and almost robot like, so holidaymakers if you like a fancy 4 star entrance over nice comfortable rooms stay here if not AVOID
