Wife and I stayed here for a conference at the beginning of October. Overall it was a very positive experience. The lobby is actually pretty impressive, not at all what I was expecting to see when we drove up. I'll try to break it down for simplicity.

Room: Fairly basic hotel room. Quite clean with just minor signs of wear and tear (the hotel has signs up stating a complete major renovation in the very near future). I believe the entire hotel is smoke free, but if you get a room on the east or west side there are balconies that you can step out on to light up. Our room faced east which didn't provide a very good view... just a shopping center and industrial facilities. The west would provide a mountain view as well as downtown. Bed was a little hard and pillows were too soft, but that's just our preference.

Food/Room Service/Bar: We had a great time down in the hotel bar. We had an excellent bar tender who treated us great anytime she was working. I wish I could remember her name to give her Kudos. The bar was never really busy and we could watch TV and shoot pool as much as we wanted. We ate at the hotel restaurant a couple times, dinner and breakfast. The food was good, not remarkable, but very adequate. Especially since you are in a remote part of the city and the choices are rather limited for food near by. Room service was always very prompt and hot. No problems there at all.

Location: Probably the major drawback in my opinion... it was a bit of a drive to downtown and to many restaurants. Other than that, very good. Free parking too in a garage, which was nice.

I read reviews about this hotel and was very scared right before we went, however once we got there we were plesently suprised. The hotel does need a little bit of renovation, the elevators in the parking garage are slower than you would like, but other than that we had no problem. When we checked in we were paying cash, they wanted a credit card for incidentals, but we didn't want to do that so, they took a little bit of extra cash for those things, but it was returned at check out. Our room was on the 7th floor, and was very nice. the first day we were there we didn't have the housekeeping come in however they went ahead and left our bathroom stuff in a bag outside the door. Before we got there, they sent us an email asking us if there is anything extra we would like in our room, we were very impressed with that. We liked everyone there and were treated very respectfully, loved it and were truly happy.

I just returned from a 5 day conference at the Denver Renaissance. I'm not sure what the previous reviewers experienced, but this hotel is lovely. The lobby area is very spacious, well-appointed, nice restaurant and bar area. The rooms are large, very clean and perfectly fine. The rooms may need some upgrading in terms of furnishings , but no one in our group of over 100 had a bad room - they could not be considered shabby at all. The hotel has a small gym - very well kept and clean. The pool area was fine; the outdoor area could use some color (plants?), but it was very clean with plenty of lounges and frresh towels. The staff here is wonderful - from the front desk, concierge, housekeeping and the restaurant/banquet staff. The only downside for me was the location - it is far from downtown Denver and the views from the hotel are of a shopping mall. But, it was a great stay and a nice place. If you don't need to be downtown and you have a car, this is a great place at a good price.

Rooms are shabby & dirty. Lobby looks nice, but once you enter your room, it is another story. Hotel It is not that close to the airport, about a 20 minute ride. Area around the hotel
in a neighborhood in transition. Although there is a new shopping plaza across the
6 lane highway, the rest of the area is industrial & shabby. There are many other
new hotels much closer to the airport & downtown to choose from-pick one of them.
Pool area looked dirty. Very disappointed.

We had a great stay at this hotel. It was cleam and quiet. We visited there May 19 - 21, 2006. We had a room on the Club Members floor, it was large and roomy, even though it had two queen beds in it. The bathroom had a roll-in shower. We would definitely stay there again.
