I stayed here one night because Frontier airlines messed up my flight from Kansas City to Phoenix (don't EVER fly Frontier--they are the WORST airline I've ever dealt with...but that's a different issue). The only thing Frontier did right was put me in this hotel. I got in at 10pm, and had to leave at 5am to catch my flight the next morning, but from what I could experience in those 7 hours, it was a great hotel. Very beautiful lobby/atrium, and the most comfortable hotel bed (maybe even any bed) I've ever slept on. I would purchase one for my own house if I could. Front desk people were nice and sympathetic to a frustrated, late-arriving guest. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area for any reason.

This hotel may seem pleasant at first but beware! Housekeeping will go through your belonging (and take what they wish), they did mine! Management is quick to defend their own, and will do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING but brush you off. I called the police, I suggest you do the same when your personal belonging end up missing. I will never stay at a Renaissance Hotel again - their customer service is horrible!

Management response from CGRen, Director of Operations
(Management representative)
Jun 26, 2009
We strongly object to this review. This former guest is presenting these allegations against our Hotel and our response is as follows: The guest checked-out of our Hotel, leaving behind a small bag in their room. Only after the fact did they realize their error and contact the Hotel. We confirmed that their bag was found and returned it to them same day. They claimed to be missing three minor toiletry items, one very expensive item, and immediately accused our staff of theft. Neither the local Police nor our own internal investigation could establish any sort of theft or the existence or value of the items the guest claimed were missing. In spite of this, the guest still requested that we rebate their entire stay to make up for their loss which we declined to do. Now, they have chosen to air their frustrations here in this forum. While it is their right to post whatever they would like about our hotel, it does not make the content of their posting accurate or fair.

I stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in Denver and was surprised by the great service and attentive management team, something that you don't often find these days. the hotel is located in a very convenient location. Easy access to the highway, minutes from Downtown Denver, and surrounded by a new shopping and restaurant area makes this a must try if travelling to Denver. I'm usually dissapointed by the workout room in hotels, but this place has been done well, with a very nice mix of cardio and free weights.

Conveniently located between Downtown and DIA, this hotel is one of the best values in town. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the staff goes above and beyond to please.
The fitness center is excellent, and the dining in house is appropriate.

A really nice hotel, especially if you like hearing trains at all hours.

The main reason I did not give this hotel a higher rating is due to the irritation of being awakened by train horns throughout the night. I could live with the inconvenience of the semi-remote location, but it was the direct proximity to the train tracks that spoiled the experience.

The room was very nice, especially for a business traveler. There are both audio and rgb jacks on the work desk which connect to the HD TV. As a result, you can use the TV as a large external monitor for your laptop. The broadband internet connection was both free and easy to use. On one of the hotel's lower levels there is a well-equipped business center.

It would have been nice to find a practical restaurant in the building. Instead, they have an Italian restaurant with a pretentious looking menu and prices to match. Accordingly, anything from room service would flatten your wallet. While the bar area offers snack foods, the drink prices leave something to be desired i.e $6 to $9 a glass for some very mediocre cabernets.

A visit to the shopping center across the street reminded me a lot of east Oakland, CA (and that's no compliment.) If you enjoy gang graffiti and prefer languages other than English, you might feet right at home shopping near the hotel.

The bottom line: A nice, clean, elegant, roomy hotel. The rooms and facilities are above average, and the staff was courteous. The rates are a bit pricey for what you get, but not way out of line. The biggest drag on the experience was the intermittent train noise.
