In the last year, Ive been staying a lot at the Denver Renaissance for work trips. My office is at Stapleton, so the location is very convenient. I've stayed at the nearby DoubleTree and the Timbers and I reckon the Renaissance is the best bet in the general Stapleton/Quebec St area. Having been a recurring guest both before and after the recent renovations, I must say they've done good work.
The rooms are large, but you definitely want to ask for a high floor to get up and away from the atrium noise. Still those doors are very solid and take care of most of the noise anyway. And you want to request a room facing the city (with the Rockies as a nice background), otherwise you get a view of a Wal Mart and a Home Depot. No matter where you are you will experience very occasional train noise. Tracks are to the north (the side of the hotel you enter) but getting a room on the south end doesn't completely solve the problem. There must be a busy crossing because the train operators really lay on the horn at times.
Internet is free in the rooms, which is nice (Doubletree charges $10). Parking is free and easy in the attached garage. They will bring a fridge to your room if you're going to stay a while and there are free laundry machines near the gym/pool, though it can be tough to find them available. The airport shuttle they have is efficient and pleasant. There is also a Hertz branch on site. They leave two packets of (non cecaf) coffee for the machine in the room, a touch I appreciate.
For trips where my work has been in downtown Denver, I've stayed there (Curtis, Residence Inn), not out at the Renny. I wouldn't want to commute the I70 to the I25 in rush hour. Apart from that, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
Despite the fact that the hotel is massive and is pretty poorly located for most people's needs it sometimes gets completely booked up. My last stay I had to leave my last night and move down to the DoubleTree. So don't leave your booking to the last minute on this one.
