As experienced B&Bers my husband and I were not impressed with the Queen Anne B&B; Remington Suite. We will not be returning. Here are our thoughts on this B&B.
First of all, there are some good things to be said about the Queen Anne.
The location is good for walking to downtown Denver and/or Coors Field. Although we saw many homeless people, it still felt safe to walk to both locations above.
The Innkeeper, Tom, is very helpful about suggestions on where to dine and is very knowledgeable about the Inn itself.
The evening wine tasting was very nice, highlighting Colorado wines.
We found the Remington Suite to be large and clean.
Now the bad.
They don't enforce the under age 12 policy, as we were awoken at 6 a.m. by a child in the next room.
Whenever anyone enters the building (the Remington Suite & a few other rooms are in a different building than the Main building) via the main door, you will hear them, as well as their conversation. You will also hear the above floor boards creak whenever that guest walks on them. Understandably, this is a very old house, but it's not conducive to sleep or relaxing when it seems these intrusions to quiet are constant.
Also, although the Inn is on what appears to be a quiet street, during the day when we had the window open for fresh air, traffic noise was constant.
The toiletries provided are shampoo (which was watered down, or a very, very, watery variety, as the whole contents emptied when I first poured it out), soap, and makeup remover pads.
The food was mediocre at best. On the buffet, there were three types of cold cereal, two types of juices, coffee, tea, water, a mixed fruit bowl, and yogurt in a bowl. The hot entree served that day was a basil-tomato crustless quiche, which is more of a luncheon quiche, than a breakfast quiche. Regardless, it was unedible by both my husband and myself. The biscuit that was handed out to each of us was cold, and did not appear to be fresh. This was by far the worst breakfast we have ever had in our B&B travels.
This is definitely not a luxury B&B by any means, but if you are looking for a place close to downtown Denver, and you aren't too discriminating in your B&B tastes, the Queen Anne would be fine.
