“a castle full of books”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

ok, i'm a sucker for libraries to begin with, so i can't even pretend that this review is coming from an unbiased standpoint, but still. the denver library is massive and looks like a castle. and it's full of books - what more could you ask for?! maybe better parking - there's only street parking, so it can be pretty chancy sometimes, especially when there's some sort of fair/festival going on at the civic center park right next door (as there seems to be every weekend in the summer.) this library offers a wide variety of every conceivable kind of publication and a multitude of comfortable places to enjoy your choice. in my experience, the staff here is friendly and knowledgeable - the children's librarian knew right off the location and author of every book i requested. again, i find it hard to imagine a library that i WOULDN'T give a favorable review to, but that doesn't mean this place isn't worth a visit. check it out. read some books. check them out.

“Huge selection and easy process!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

This library has a huge selection and certainly lives up to the greatness of Denver. When I first moved here I used the library for almost everything to get started. Since it takes a while to get the internet hooked up in a new apt, I used the library internet to find furniture and similar needs. I rented books, movies and documentaries to kill the time and ended up not even getting cable. This is a solid library and I am grateful for all the services it provides.

A free place to go hang out, great if walking, driving do not park on the west side of the building, 1 hour parking and meter maids are ready to ticket, east caddy corner of library 2 hour parking or pay lot.

“Michael Graves Classic Postmodern”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

I read probably 6-10 books a month so I'm no stranger to libraries. I also travel to Portland a lot which has a Michael Graves city hall. I'm a big admirer of his architecture and this is classic Graves of the 80's. Plus, they do a fantastic job of organizing their collections and recommendations. If I lived in Denver, I go there often

The library system in Denver is wonderful and deserves much more support than it get. The downtown library is a work of art. I love the childrens' part especially
