“Beautiful drive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

A great drive, even in the winter. It is a dirt road, so be ready to get your car dirty & go slow(20mph)

“Nice scenic drive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

I decided to take the Phantom Canyon Road instead of the usual highway route, just to have a bit different scenery. Its quite a nice drive. It was a bit early for the Aspen to be turning colors, but it was still bright, colorful and beautiful. Definitely recommend taking this nice scenic route and get off the highways.

“"Roughing" It”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

The road is used mostly by tourists, so stopping and driving slow isn't a problem. The views are outstanding. It's good to take the trip north to south and south to north. We'll be back; this was our second visit!

“Great scenery!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

This road was off-the-beaten path, but it was well worth it! The road is a very narrow dirt road that winds its way through a beautiful canyon. The views were gorgeous and for the most part we were all alone...no crowds of people. We were able to enjoy the scenery and peacefulness of this beautiful country!

“Don't go to Cripple Creek without this scenic drive.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012

Excellent road to travel for the scenic beauty of Colorado. It is an old railroad bed that was used to carry the gold ore out of Cripple Creek down to Florence. There are also 2 tunnels that you will go through on the southern end of the road... don't miss this gem.
