I have a little side hobby of visiting old bordellos in the western towns we visit on vacations. I buy the books and although I have not read all of them...yet...this whole part of history just intrigues me. This was the absolute best one we have visited yet! The house is still set up as it was back when it was a brothel. Apparently in the 1950s when it was turned into a museum there was still a woman alive that worked in the house so she passed on tons of information and little details about who's room was who's etc. The 2 ladies giving the tour were a hoot. They were so knowledgable about the house, its history and its artifacts and they enjoyed giving the tour. I learned stuff that I did not know before and I thought I knew a lot when I began that tour. The fact that this house is still standing and has furnishings many that were in it is just wonderful. It is just like stepping back into that time period and walking in to a working bordello. If you enjoy history you should put this on top of your list when visiting Cripple Creek. Would not recommend it for a family with children 'tho not a family attraction.
