Quality furnishings, extremely spacious, very friendly and helpful/ knowledgeable staff!! Caroline at the front desk was extremely helpful with all sorts of local information and 'insider tips'. When we did have an issue with the TV in the condo (user error), Engineering arrived within 5 minutes. Then 5 minutes after he left, the front desk followed-up to make sure that we weren't having any further issues.
Also, I have stayed here one other time on a ski vacation and need to mention how convenient the Lodge is: Easy to find if you are driving in, and even easier access to the slopes.

Stayed a night with my wife for a mountain bike race. As soon as we pulled up, a someone was ready to help out with parking and luggage. Both the bell boy and the front desk was very friendly and shared useful info to two Crested Butte newbies. Our visit was during the off-peak season, but the price was great for the style of room we received and the staff were very accommodating. I really like the pillows. Super comfortable for me.

We just spent 3 nights at this Lodge for the Alpine Odyssey Mountain Bike Race.
The staff was super helpful and check in was very simple and quick . The only thing was found odd, it that no mountain bikes or any bikes for that matter were allowed in the room. We have stayed at other lodges (copper mountain and Iron horse, Tahoe) and bikes are always allowed in the room. They were nice about locking it up for us in the storage locker, but just strange they were hosting a large mountain bike race and did not allow bikes in the room. Rather than that no issues at all and the staff did accomodate us by locking it up . The condos are spacious and equipped with everything you need, very plush rooms. Ruby the housekeeper is the most coolest and sweetest lady you will ever meet (always plent of soap, coffee, etc) rooms are so clean !! Very impressed with the staff all super friendly and helpful. Hot tub and pool are great. Fitness center could use a few more machines but then again the trails will give you the best workout. There is so much to do at Crested Butte hiking, mountain biking, scenic driving etc . The town of Crested Butte is about 5 minutes away you can drive or take the resort's bus . Great area and very beautiful !!!

Room Tip: Any of the condos are great, very spacious and luxurious !!

We stayed at the Lodge at Mountaineer Square last December 2011 and were blown away not only by the amazingly convenient location (steps to the lifts), super nice shuttle bus to Crested Butte, but what impressed us most is the incredible hospitality of the staff at the Lodge at Mountaineer Square.
They were extremely caring, thoughtful and helpful throughout our stay and made us feel completely at home.
This is the most luxurious place to stay at Crested Butte. Interiors were incredibly clean and comfortable.
The trip to town in the local shuttle bus is usually entertaining and sure beats driving on icy roads late at night. The shuttle bus leaves right in front of the lodge.
We'd go back there any day.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a nice view. book early enough. Book a package with ski ticket/hotel/shuttelbus...

Just spent 2 nights at this hotel over Labor Day weekend. Could not have been better. The room was perfect size, clean, fantastic kitchen, with a great view of Mt Crested Butte. The location is in the middle of Mt Crested Butte with all the main summer activities 2 minutes outside your door. Lifts, climbing wall, mini-golf, zipline, restaurants, shopping, etc....Our room rate included a couple trips up the lift plus discounts on the CB zipline tour (which is about as much fun as it gets). Was able to ride my mountain bike out my front door up the mountain to some of the best riding around. As for the previous reviewer...uh, Crested Butte is the Mountain Bike capital of the world, if you don't like mountain biking then CB probably isn't the place for you! We've stayed at every hotel in CB and the Lodge is definitely the best.

Room Tip: Get the 1BR/2BA with a kitchen.

I have to to say that despite not liking the hotel itself, all of the staff at the hotel were very nice. I think our problem was with Crested Butte itself, it was just not what we were expecting and I think it is a place more for mountain bikers than hikers. We decided we wanted to leave a day early, but we had prepaid through Expedia. Expedia said it was up to the hotel whether they wanted to refund us or not, and the hotel manager was very nice and refunded us the one night. The hotel charges a resort fee, but I don't consider the hotel a resort. The room we had was very small, but very clean. The biggest complaint comes from the size of the pillows. They are postage stamps, and flat as pancakes, and they only give you 3 unless you want to use the icky decorative pillows to prop yourself up. The TV is also very small, and our room only had one mirror, a very small bathroom mirror. The workout room was also very small. It has just 2 treadmills, an elliptical, and minimal free weights. I guess if your going to charge resort fees have resort amenities. If your looking for a clean place to sleep with nice customer service this is the place, but don't expect a "resort."

The Lodge at Mountaineer Square is the perfect location to enjoy activities at Mt. Crested Butte. And when visitors want to explore the town for dinner or shopping, the free shuttle bus is just outside the hotel's courtyard. There are new activities on the mountain for families to enjoy in the summer, and you can still zipline in the winter. The Lodge is a premier hotel with beautifully maintained condos. (If you stay on the 5th floor, Ruby will take very good care of you!) There are several cozy areas where you can visit with friends or read by the fire near the lobby. We were very pleased with the lovely furnishings and the friendly and helpful staff.
