Description: We are known as having the highest quality fish in town. Our fish is flown in 6 days a week within 24 hours from the docks. We offer a nightly happy hour every night at the bar from 5:30-6:30. In the summer we have a beautiful patio with heaters...and soon a fire pit table! We are a casual restaurant with a warm friendly charm, just like our town of Crested Butte. Private parties available and reservations are recommended but not needed.

“Good sushi, but service was lacking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2014

This sushi bar was very good. I was pleasantly surprised but the freshness of the fish. The portion of the hot rock was a bit small. My complaint with this restaurant was the service. Our server had a real attitude and was difficult to get her attention.

“Delicious food, reasonably priced”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2014

Thought the sushi was delicious and inventive. Service was good. Nice location right off of the main drag. We were surprised at how reasonable the pricing was. Would definitely go back!

“Just ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014

Staff was friendly and helpful. Setting was nice. Pricey. Sushi was so-so. As was the miso soup. Only went there once so maybe it would be worth trying again, but i'd have to really be craving sushi as there are much better places to eat in Crested Butte

“Fresh Sushi in an Old Rocky Mountain Mining Town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2014

We were fortunate to be in Crested Butte for a wedding and know some of the locals, and they all swore that Lil's was the best place to have Sushi in this part of Colorado. The consensus was the Chef was quite particular and purchased freshly flown in fish and that the restaurant had a clientele base that demanded high quality Sushi, even in this somewhat remote locale. We took their word for the food and were frankly not disappointed. We were treated a bit rudely by the young lady who was in charge, but she must have been having a rough day , as our waitress jumped in and answered our questions and made sure we were given superior service. From that moment on, everyone was super attentive , helpful and seemed to enjoy working here. We had the Surf and Turf, the Riptide, and the Tempura Lobster specialty rolls ---- each had it's own special flavor and all were interesting to the palate. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area , and the wine selection was also decent. They do have a happy hour, but you must sit at the bar , and like most Sushi places it was somewhat limited. They did allow me to have one of the Happy Hour wine selections, but the menu begged us to try their specialty rolls. Fresh ginger ( I have a problem with so many places buying cheap or not replacing their ginger with a quality product ) and light soy for my wife, made it a perfect stop for us. Eating outside is enjoyable in their little courtyard during the Summer, and service does not suffer one bit.

“Serving Two Masters”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2014

I'm not sure where the idea of having a restuarant that served lamb chops on the one hand and sushi on the other came from but it is generally difficult to serve two masters in any walk of life. Perhaps the sushi idea came from the fact they are the only game in town and there is a certain crowd which will search it out (there used to be another sushi restaurant but it disappeared when the Secret Stash took over the building a year or so ago). Having eaten sushi from Osaka to Hawaii to most major cities in the US, especially the west coast, I would call it average at best and painfully way overpriced - I mean $9 for two pieces of maguro - it should cost half of that in any good sushi restaurant on the west coast or major city - and the pieces are not exactly generous... so if you have just won the lottery (and you love sushi that much...) or would like a lesson in 'supply & demand', go for it. The other 'master' however, does well in serving excellent food at decent prices - the Colorado lamb chops were excellent on our last visit as are many other items on the menu... which is why it gets four stars, not because they offer overpriced, mediocre sushi and rolls, which would make it a one star (only because zero is not an option in this rating system).
