When one first arrives in Craig it is easy to be decieved and think that there are no great lodging experiences to be had....Alas, I was very happy to discover the Holiday Inn Craig. The steak house was out of this world chefs' Tony and Ellroy were happy to come out and speak to me regarding my food and stay. The restaurant manager Shane was very friendly and couteous. I was there on business so I stayed for a months' time. I was able to meet Renee who helped me plan my companies dinner in their gorgeous ballroom. I would say from top to bottom this was one of the most impressive and friedliest group of people that I have ever met.
I will definately stay with them again if I am in the area.

Rooms are on the small side but have been renovated. Burrito and taco buffet at dinner was oh so average if you are not expecting the real deal. A/C in our room was loud and fan cycled on and off all nigh even though I had it on continuous fan. Front desk was understaffed at check-in. Check-out was great and friendly. Rooms are clean. Parking lot is well lite and clean. I did not care for the chef and one of the managers taking their smoke break at the front enterence of the hotel when we were checking in.

The hotel desk clerk needs training relating to timely customer service and to recognize it is not okay to ignore customers...could learn from the wait staff in the restuarant. Terrific steak! Great dining experience.

Steamboat Springs was completely booked so I tried nearby Craig instead. Pleasantly surprised at with the clean facilities even if it was an older hotel. Pool & hot tub clean, well kept. Bar/Lounge not too loud, with full range of drinks and grill foods available at fair price. Room with king bed fresh and the pillows plentiful. Just wish building had an elevator for second floor rooms. No complimentary breakfast but the dinner buffet is delicious and fairly priced. Staff most helpful, too.
