“Copper Junction 201”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

THis is for #201 Specifically. Carpet in living room was DIRTY, the edge of the kitchen counter by the carpet looked like Coke (could of been Pepsi!) had been spilled down onto the carpet still on the cabinet also! The traffic area across was brown in color, the sides were a light tan! The veritcal blinds in the LR were not functionable at all. Some turned one-way & others another way! It faces west so the sun in the afternoon was intense. Towels not sufficient, small bath towels, only one set per person for our 4 days. Only one dishcloth & one kitchen towel. Refrigerator did have ice maker but was missing a shelf & the bottom vent cover hung loose. Only supplies was sugar, salt & pepper. Looked like someone had left syrup & flour. Beds were okay!

Now in general for the Copper Junction parking is TIGHT with big support beams! Not much turning room to line up for a slot. We choose to park in 1 of the 5 outside spaces.

This is an awesome location. You can get on the American eagle lift right there. No need to take any buses. Yes it's an older building but who cares? It's clean and you can't beat the locations. I have 3 kids and I always try and stay in this area. Plus there's a great pizzeria downstairs and you can rent your skis right there.

Apparently these condos are really old, built sometime in the 1970's. They provide ski in ski out accommodation next to the main bars and restaurants in Copper Mountain. Our condo was very comfortable and roomy with a view of the base area. Parking undernerath was convenient if a little cramped when you arrive in a standard size SUV - otherwise known to a European person such as myself as a "monster". Beds huge and comfortable, all facilities in living area and kitchen that you would expect. Plenty of storage and humidfiers to counteract the dry air. The heating was a bit of a puzzle though. 2 thermostats in the living area and none in the main bedroom. During the week the bedroom could kept cool; not so at the weekend as the neighboiurs heat seemed to come via our condo - with plenty of clanking pipes. This, apparently is because of the age of the building and hence its boiler. Not great as the sound of pipes warming and cooling at night does not, initially, make for good sleep. You get used to it but..... There was a nice gas fireplace in the living area. Free wi-fi. Oh and good, varied skiikng even though this year was very low on snow. (Sometime I'll visit and get those overnight falls of 12" snow.)
In previous review of Copper Mouintain I complained about the industrial quality hweadache the height gave me. I can recommend acetazolamide. Works a treat. No headache - wonderful.
I can also recommend CB grill for good food. And Frisco (the nearby town) generally. Several nice bars and restaurants.
Would I come again? Copper Mountain yes. Copper Junction - probably, though I'd like them to improve the heating controls. Oh and not steal my tea bags! Comedy error number one - the cleaner apparently identified my (English) tea bags and rubbish and removed them! Management arranged for some replacement - fruit tea. Not the same thing at all my American cousins. Quite funny though.
