“Fairfield Inn a comfortable place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2012

We chose to book the executive room, as it was not much more expensive than a regular room. It was spacious, with a king bed and a sofa. Just off the I25, so easy access to the highway. We did not hear any highway noise at all. The area is a bit industrial-like and not quaint in any way.
The size of the pool was small. There was a hot tub in the pool area.
Breakfast had good variety, (spicy omelettes, sausage, breakfast sandwiches, bagels, waffles, cereal, pastries, oatmeal, fruit, juice, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk). Coffee, bananas and apples were available in the lobby all day.
Staff was professional and helpful. They coped well with the groups that were there.
There was a fridge in our room but I don't think there's one in all rooms. The fridge worked well but it was noisy.
Parking was free and plentiful.
The hotel is close to the REI store (which can only be accessed from one side of the road, by the way) and to the Western Museum of Mining and Industry (If you go, make sure to go when a tour is being offered so that you can see the machinery in action).

Average room with two queen beds. Close to I-25 and north Colorado Springs. Breakfast was good - hot and cold offerings. Would stay again for business travel.

Room Tip: Room 105 is right across from the vending and ice machines, next to the pool, and across from the br...

My son and I stayed at the Fairfield Inn for 5 days and had an amazing time, It is a little ways out from Colorado Springs, but not far from all the great places in the area we wanted to visit. I recommend it for anyone who is going to the area.

We chose this hotel as it's newer - staying only one night for a volleyball tournament in the morning. The rooms are great, clean. We encountered a couple of front desk issues, but they rectified them nicely so I'd feel foolish to mention them as managment made them disappear. I would stay here again if we find ourselves in Colorado Springs again.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2011

My room was very well appointed-king bed, loveseat, chair and small table, small desk. All very adequate for the three nights spent. At the time, they had some issues with the hot tub, but they were working on it and it was obvious that they were doing what could be done. I was a bit disappointed in the cleanliness effort made by the maid staff. It didn't appear as if the carpet had been vacuumed after my first night as a friend and I had shared some cheese and the crumbs were still there the next day after the maid had been there. Not a big deal, but maybe indicative of other shortcuts. The bed's mattress was ready for retirement as it was well worn on the side towards the bathroom (always the worse as it seems hotel so seldom rotate the mattress). The middle of the mattress was still in good shape so, that's where I slept. The a/c and the small refrigerator both worked well, but both were a bit noisy. The breakfast was ok, but nothing out of the ordinary. All in all, a fair value for a fair price. We paid $89 per night plus taxes.

We found the location of this hotel, just off I-25, to be very convenient for getting to area attractions. It's about midway between the Air Force Academy and US 24 which takes you to Mannitou Springs and Pike's Peak. Garden of the Gods exit is just 3 miles away.

The hotel is not large (only 4 stories) but well kept and has an indoor pool. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to provide help, particularly during an outage of the elevator (we were on the 4th floor but didn't find the stairs a hardship). Breakfast is pretty typical for most hotels these days - waffles, pastries, yogurt, breakfast sandwiches, cereals, juice, etc. A good variety for jut a two-night stay.

Dining options are available by just walking across the parking lot to Ruby Tuesday & Outback Steak House and a few more steps to Old Chicago and Hooters. Carrabba's is on the other side of I-25.

Access to I-25 was convenient as was a gas station right in front of the hotel. As with any hotel near an interstate, there can be noise but I was not bothered by it and I'm a light sleeper!

Would definitely stay here again if in the Colorado Springs area.
