“Great! I Felt Safe!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

We had a late arrival from Philadelphia. Greeted and checked in quickly and were treated with two warm chocolate chip cookies. Were advised on where we could still find an open local restaraunt.

A few problems with the room on different days. All problems were quickly addressed. Missing TV remote, toilet flushing problems, twice.

I am giving them 5 stars becuase of the attention I received when I believed I was having a heart attack. I called the front desl and requested an ambulance. Within seconds the hotel management was at my door with personnel waiting to receive the ambulance. They were extrememely concerned and kind and offerred to call anyone I needed. Thankfully, it must have just been the atlitude change, I was cleared and discharged by the hospital. I notified management that I had returned and the told me they would be available if I needed anything. I really felt safe as if I was with friends.

A beautiful hotel.

Good location. Rooms were quiet. Not as nice as the photos but still nice. The indoor pool is great for kids and the lobby of the hotel is very nice. As for a interior courtyard room so that you will not face the road or highway. I suggest getting the breakfast included with the room rate. Great nice breakfast in the morning and a nice restaurant. Many restuarants in the area. This is located more south Colorado Springs.

Room Tip: room facing the courtyard upper levals

Dear SusanL - We would like to thank you for taking a few minutes of your time to post a review of our property. It is so important to us that we receive feedback from our customers as it helps us get even better! This property just completed renovations of our guestrooms this last spring & our meeting & public space last year. We also have a great staff who strive very hard to provide superior customer service. Thank you again & we do hope that we have the priviledge of serving you again in the near future. Happy travels!

Just off the highway, the Doubletree looked good on the drive in. The property is dated, smelly, and dark. The doors to the rooms slammed shut all night (why don't they install those devices to close quietly!) and kids were running down the halls yelling.

The rooms are a LONG hike from the front desk, so make sure you have everything you need before heading to your room! The first room had a dirty carpet, banged up furniture, and a filthy bathtub. I told the front desk this was unacceptable so they moved us to another room, which was a little better, but still not up to my standards as the security lock was ripped right out of the door frame!

The buffet was ok. My bread was so huge that it got stuck in toaster and started to smoke.

The morning crew at the front desk were nice, helpful, and welcoming. The afternoon "manager" on duty was rude to me and did not speak well of the DT's morning crew.

I am giving this a 2 star rating for the morning front desk folks only! I would never stay at this property again.
I am Hilton Hhnonors participant--diamond level.

Thank you for your candid feedback and we appreciate your loyalty as a rewards member. I am very sorry your stay was a disappointing experience. As you can clearly see from the vast majority of our reviews our overall score within our Brand, dirty rooms are not typical at our hotel. However, I appreciate that you brought this to my attention. We have discussed the stained carpet and unclean bathtub with our staff and will make every effort to be sure our rooms meet the highest housekeeping standards. I’ve also addressed the security lock and slamming doors with our team so that we can actively repair any broken door and address our noise procedures. I can also assure you that we’ve handled the unpleasant encounter you had with our staff. If you visit our area in the future, I do hope you give us a second chance. I would be delighted to personally handle your reservations. It is my duty to ensure that your past experience is not the norm.

Sincerely, Tom Mamalis-GM

My first reaction walking in was, "this hotel looks dated" - the decor may have had a certain rustic charm 20 years ago, but today it just looks tired. A lot of Hilton properties are starting to feel that way, though, so I almost can't fault individual hotels; clearly management does not feel renovations are a big priority.

Initial impressions aside, this was a very pleasant stay, and I would stay here again. My room was spacious and clean, with a nice view of the mountains. The breakfast buffet (free vouchers w/HHonors Diamond membership) was a bit repetitive, but the food was good, and they kept it hot. The gym was well-equipped, and had just been upgraded with brand-new cardio equipment when I arrived.

I was traveling on business, and the location - just off the interstate - was very convenient for getting around.

One word of caution: avoid the in-house laundry service. My shirts came back starched, even though I requested none, and my pants somehow came back both damp and stiff as a board, which was quite a feat.

my husband & i stay here for a weekend trip to colorado......u got a lot of bang for ur buck.....hotel was very easy access to the freeway.....easy access to stores (target, grocery stores, restaurants etc ) .....lots of parking.....nice clean rooms...........service was very friendly & accomodating...........we did room service & never waited more than 30 min & the food was excellent...............the front desk was always helpful with directions & questions............and this hotel is only about 20-30 min from manitou springs & garden of the gods............my only comment to the hotel would be its definitely due for a nice facelift on the outside ( the inside was recently uplifted ) but no complaints...........i would stay here again :)

Room Tip: this hotel is off the main road so we stayed on the top floor & had no issues....we stayed in th...

This was our stopover hotel from Santa Fe to Denver airport. Ideal spot and easily found off the I-25. Room was well appointed and very comfortable. Shops if you need them are close by [Target opposite and a small mall area a little further on with Michaels, Ross etc] as are restaurants. Although we were only here for one night we would certainly come again, it looks like a huge hotel but the staff were nice and friendly, professional too. We couldn't fault it. As for room location, we were on the ground floor next to the lake and ducks, behind us the beautiful mountains - on the other side is the freeway so not sure how noisy that would be. We were fine but would, on another visit, ask for a high floor as the footsteps above us were quite loud!

Management didn't do anything about the pornographic in swimming pool after my 7 year old nephew witnessed it! I paid to much for my room to see that and to have nothing done about it! Do not recommend this hotel

Thank you for taking the time to write a review for our hotel. I must admit I don’t have any records from any of my management staff and or our security indicating any type of “pornographic” activity. At times we do have some foreign travelers that feel it is acceptable to sunbathe or swim without the proper attire. If we become aware of the issue, we do follow proper procedures to educate them immediately. Please feel free to call me 719-527-4620 or email me at tom.mamalis@hilton.com if you have few minutes.

Again I am sorry for the discomfort this situation caused you and your nephew.
