“A sweet spot for the sweet tooth!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013 via mobile

We headed to The Broadmoor for a sweet treat after a day at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, expecting it to be a fun experience, though, over-priced with small servings. HOWEVER, we were so pleased at the value of the chocolate/coffee/ice cream shop! The single scoops were really big, the handmade candies perfectly sized and priced, and they had almond milk for my latte. And did I mention the valet service was complimentary? A hidden affordable treasure in a beautiful, but expensive, world-class resort.

Stayed here for a conference - third year in a row. GREAT hotel with incredible service. Had an awesome room that was spotlessly clean. Room Service was very good and quick even with having a full house. The daily breakfast buffet is defintely worth the money! Love staying here and look forward to a return visit.

I've been to the Broadmoor six times (my family and I go every three years) and I've loved every single minute. Their staff is friendly, their activities are fun, and their food is to die for. The bed's are, without a doubt, the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on.

While the price is extremely steep, it is absolutely worth it as this is the best hotel in all of Colorado.

This hotel is from a by-gone era but with a modern touch. It is s true resort. Yes you will walk a bit, but that allows you to see the charm of the place. Service is great. The combination of Western niceness and a five star resort make it so. The resort is spending millions to update the rooms and make the facilities even better.

Meals were excellent in all the venues I tried. Yes it's pricy. Yes, it's big. Yes, it feels a bit out of the past. But all of that makes it the Broadmore!

Just returned from Easter weekend/spring break at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. I have stayed at this hotel at least 8 or 10 times in the past and even posted an earlier review. I felt it was worth adding an updated review as the experience was probably the best ever and we did the family affair versus business (reason i had stayed there in the past).

First a comment on the family friendly nature of this resort - they do families extremely well. Each and every day had a complete posting of activities for kids of all ages including movies, egg hunts and a host of other offerings. At least 50% of the guests were families (probably due to the holiday weekend). They are also adding a complete family restaurant in the West tower called "the Play" - opens in mid-April.

Service was, as usual, impeccable. From the bell men that greet you to the front desk to each and every employee you pass in the halls or around the lake everyone is there to let you know you are welcomed. Absolutely some of the best service i have experienced at this price point. Truly a five star experience - incidentally the hotel has been awarded 5 stars for 32 consecutive years.

They continue to invest in constant upgrades to the property - this time the Golden Bee, a sing along piano bar, was closed for renovation but i looked at the renovation and it is going to accomodate more guests (Golden Bee was always tight on seating). Restaurants are in tip-top shape and menus were great. There are at least 5 or 6 restaurants on property inlcuding the top Penrose Room. Room service menu is full of options if you opt to stay in and dine overlooking the lake (how we wrapped up our stay).

We had a one-bedroom lake front suite on the East side. These suites have a great view of the mountains and the lake. Fireplace in the room and a nice courtyard area. Amenities are top shelf, beds are incredibly comfortable.

Don't miss an evening by one of the outdoor fireplaces - a great place to sit and unwind. There is one on each side of the lake and they are popular spots for drinks.

All in all, one of the best resorts you will find with full restaurant offering, great service, and incredible views.

Room Tip: Most rooms overlook the lake. Suites have nice patios, balcony areas. West side are newer rooms, E...

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon. We reserved a regular room but were amazed to discover that The Broadmoor upgraded our room to one of there suites, free of charge! They discovered that I just returned from Iraq and we were staying there right after getting married so they upgraded us. The room had an amazing view of the lake, most of the property, and the mountains. I have never stayed in such a wonderful room. They treated us like VIP's. I will always recommend them to any and all of my friends.

Room Tip: Any room you choose you can't go wrong.

Service. Luxury. Warmth. Charm. The Broadmoor loved up to our expectations. Although it was our first visit, we felt like we were old friends, welcomed by name and treated like royalty. We were upgraded to a Lake View Suite with a fireplace and huge bathroom. If we did not want to see a few things in town, we might have not left the room. After two perfect nights, I would love to go back for a long, long visit.

The fitness center is first class - I was excited to work out both mornings. They have exercise classes each morning that are open to guests for $20. Treadmills face the mountains, wow.

We ate lunch at The Tavern, seated in the back "garden room" and while service was not perfect from the get-go, it improved, and the food was well prepared and tasty. Beer was cold :-) We also had a drink one night at The Hotel Bar and ordered room service, which was good and reasonably priced, for room service, anyway.

Will go back. No soon enough.
