Spent Christmas at this hotel this year (as well as three years ago).
The property, as is the consensus here, is specacular. Maintainence is exemplary in rooms and public areas. Decor (especially in newly renovated rooms (with HUGE baths) in the original building) is elegant and confortable.
Dinig was a bit inconsistent. Chrismas dinner in the Charles Court was excellent. The following breakfast was not: an overcooked omelette that resembled as fritatta (greasy, too). The Tavern has more a steak house menu in a lovely / historic setting. The West Bar suffered from a very inattentive server.
The hotel seemed to be much busier this year that three years ago, though still not full. I would hate to imagine what it would be like in July.
