Stayed at the Crowne Plaza, Colorado Springs for 6 nights. Wasn't too thrilled with the hotel and room as a whole. Hotel set up is such that my room was a mile away (or so it seemed) from the lobby. [Long winding halls] Room had sliding doors that looked out onto a walkway. (I didn't really feel safe with that set up even though doors had 2 locks) Carpets in halls and room were dark and didn't seem clean. Bed was comfortable enough but one of the two beds had hairs on the pillow cases and sheets. (Gross) The sleep kit that was left on the bed had an empty eye patch box and no ear plugs. Guess housekeeping didn't bother to check. Bathroom also had hair in sink and an empty shampoo bottle on the floor. Tile did not look clean. I realize this property just underwent an ownership change but I care about the small details! TV channels were limited and they charge $9.95 for 24 hour internet. (Free wi-fi in the country store snack bar in lobby) I only ate one meal in the hotel at the restaurant. They have a breakfast buffet but I didn't want that much so I had a bagel, bacon and coffee. Cost me $12 which is about what the buffet would have cost. The next morning I had toast and coffee in the country store and it ran me about $5.00. On a much more positive note all the employees were so friendly and helpful. They have a courtesy shuttle to the airport (make sure to reserve a spot) and another shuttle that will take you in a five mile radius. Close by is a Kohls, Target, movie theatre and restaurants like Carrabas, Outback, etc. I would probably choose another hotel next time I am in town.
