Very clean hotel, close to a large shopping area. The only complaint we have is that the pool was freezing cold!

I have never been overly impressed with Best Western properities, and have to say that I'm still not, although my stay wasn't that bad. This hotel did have a wonderful gathering area for the many family members attending our reunion in Colorado Springs. The pool was big - my kids loved the 8 foot deep end! I liked the outdoor whirlpool as the cooling evening air was refreshing. The complimentary breakfast was good and the dining staff was really great. My complaint was with the room/bed size and the loud air conditioner. I assumed the beds were queen sized. My mistake for not checking more thorougly when I booked. Traveling with children made for a tight squeeze in the smallish double beds. The bathroom was tiny as hotel bathrooms go and could use some updating, as could the entire room. The location was great and the entire hotel staff was really kind and helpful. We stayed three nights which was just a little long for me in the small room. With all of the hotel properties in the area, I will probably try something different next trip.

My family and I stayed at the Best Western Academy hotel for one night on June 24Th 2007. Check in was smooth, but we were supposed to receive breakfast vouchers for the buffet the next morning, which we didn't receive. When we asked the front desk for the vouchers, she was hesitant, as if we were trying to scam the hotel. Our room was spacious and clean with high ceilings. The bathroom was a bit on the small side, but all the fixtures were in good shape. I was disappointed with the limited selection of cable channels. Only 22 channels! I was disappointed that the hot tub was not open, and that it is outdoors. I still would have expected it to be open in the middle of June. The pool was warm and good sized. The hotel is right across the street from Denny's which was a nice convenience. There were also many other restaurants close by and a Wall Mart. I probably wouldn't stay here again. It was a convenient place to stay right of I25, but I think Best Western could do better.

We accidentaly drove here and took the chance and we have been back twice. Very reasonably priced too.
