“The best hotel lobby outside of a resort!! Great for groups with kids.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2012

Our club with 70 plus people booked rooms at this hotel and were pleased to find an enclosed lobby with pool, hot tub, restaurant, bar, pool table, darts, lounge area, fireplace, computer room, video games etc. We had about 40 teenagers with us and this was the perfect place for them to hang out after a long day of competition. They were safe and could socialize with their friends. I will definitely stay here again. The rooms are connected as well, but the noise does not carry to the rooms it was perfect. They also had a great breakfast that was made to order omelets, or buffet or waffles and more. The hotel is older, but it is adequate with great freeway access and tons of major eating areas and malls within walking distance.

Room Tip: All the rooms were located close to everything.

We were visiting family in Colorado Springs and stayed at the Academy Hotel for four nights. We have previously stayed at all the major chains and the Academy Hotel puts them all to shame! The rooms are extremely clean (a very important point for my wife!), the wifi was strong, every employee we interacted with (front desk, housekeeping, dining) was pleasant and eager to be of assistance. And the breakfast buffet (with cook-to-order eggs, scrambled eggs, breakfast meat, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, waffles, french toast, fresh fruit, cereal...well, you get the idea) is the best we've ever had!
Ovation is right next to highway ( no worries about highway noise though - never heard traffic at all) and close to restaurants, malls Whole Foods. We will be staying there on all future trips!

What a nice place! Don't judge from the outside, it is older, but pride of ownership is evident. Very welcoming. Fabulous breakfast buffet, great warm pool, quiet room, beautiful lobby and bar area. Clean place. Loved it!

Room Tip: no elevator, might want first floor

This hotel is so comfortable and it is apparent the owners work to provide a nice experience throughout the hotel. Breakfast is the best we've seen for a good value. We liked the Dream bed in the Executive rooms - very comfortable for 4 nights straight!

Room Tip: Choose the 4th level Executive Dream bed rooms.

Booked room on Priceline and was upgraded to 4th floor tower. Comfortable Room with a very noisy window air conditioner. Cut on and off all night or stayed on with a noise level that make it difficult to sleep. Hopefully this was a one room situation and not the entire hotel. Small bathroom. Lots of families and one of the best breakfast selections (buffet) that have ever experienced for "no charge". Omlets, meats, waffles, breakfast breads, incrediable especially for families. Very convient to a lot of attractions. Plenty of parking. Asked for late check-out and was granted with no problem. Fix the window unit(s) and would stay again.

Room Tip: Check the air conditioner for noise level before unpacking.

I stayed at this hotel with my family for a week and really enjoyed it. They have an omelet chef and full breakfast buffet with a small bar and big screen for watching sports in evenings. Indoor pool and great lounge area. Rooms are good size and comfortable. Tiffany at the front desk was very helpful getting our room accomodations and the manager - John was always asking us if we needed anything else when he saw us. I would stay here again, great value & service.

Academy Hotel exceeded our expectations. For such a low nightly room rate it had fabulous service and comfortable rooms. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we have experienced.
