I booked through Priceline, getting the room for $65/night.

I enjoyed most aspects of the hotel.

The negatives:

* The Saturday morning staff didn't seem remotely interested in the customers.

* My room smelled musty. It was spotless, but I don't think they had circulated the air for a while. I ran the A/C for a while, and the smell seemed to clear out.

* The Select Comfort bed was uncomfortable regardless of setting.

* The TV was 19", old, and blurry.

Now for the positives:

* The Friday night shift couldn't do enough to help. They are cice people and extremely helpful.

* The room I had was huge (Las Vegas huge), and included a couch, queen Anne chair and ottoman, coffee table, and work desk with office chair.

* The handicap-accessible accommodations are welcomed in my situation. The shower is a small step up, for those who need it.

* The in-room coffee, microwave, and refrigerator are great, though they didn't include decaf.

* The in-room bottled water & WiFi are free.

* The room includes an iron, ironing board, and hair dryer.

* The bathing products are higher-end, which was a surprise.

* The local phone calls are free to a point.

* The hotel offers discounts to area restaurants.

The hotel is a bit out of the way, but that's okay with me because it generally means a hotel is more quiet. The lobby is bright and comfortable. The business center is free to use. And the hotel furnishes guests with free newspapers: USA Today (M - F) and The Gazette (local daily, M - Su).

I did not use the hotel's restaurant or bar.

A very pleasant stay overall. I don't think you can do better for the price. But be sure to book through Priceline. I started bidding on a 3-star hotel for $45 and had it at $65. Not bad.

“Satisfactory Airport Hotel. Needs improvement”

If you happen to be flying into Colorado Jet Center this hotel is convenient and the FBO rate is satisfactory. Aside from those two benefits, this hotel is nothing to write home about.

It appears to be a recently renovated hotel, but you can tell it is old just walking down the hallways. Televisions have not been upgraded to flat screen yet. Toll-free calls are 10 cents per minute after 60 minutes. (not that i'm going to make a phonecall that long, but come on... seriously?)

Try Solos Restaurant next door. Very cool.

“Decent Airport Hotel”

Radisson Hotel Colorado Springs Airport

Oct 22, 2007

I wanted to stay at a airport property as I was in town for business and had a early flight out. I reserved a one bedroom suite for $130.

The room was in the rear of the hotel on the second floor. Clean inside, plenty of towels, good water pressure, Free Internet via the Ethernet cable (No Wifi for laying in bed with the laptop)

The bedroom was fairly quiet and peaceful, the sleep number bed was great and the linens were of a decent thread count and comfortable. Pillows were quite nice as well. The televisions in the room are older and a bit blurry.

As it is a older hotel, the Cooling / Heating system can be a bit noisy when it engages and dis-engages.

The do have a restaurant in the property and another one in the parking lot. (dinner was So-So)

Check the price of the Suite if you are looking for quiet, during my stay it was only a $12 difference and well worth it.

Staff was always pleasant. Sleep number beds were the best. Room was clean everyday, always had clean towels and coffee. Never heard any planes our entire trip of 5 days. Pool was nice as well as exercise room. Very kid friendly.

Thanks to all who post reviews, this really helped me make a decision on my travel arrangements.'

“I thought Radisson was a mid-range chain?”

My comments for this property will be limited because we just used the hotel to sleep for a few hours before a pre-dawn flight, but it was my first experience in many years where the front desk employee failed to successfully arrange a wake-up call, and especially one that was requested after 11pm at night when there was no other activity in the lobby. I believe this speaks to the quality of the staff here, and that none of my interactions with the various desk people during my stay were particularly helpful or friendly. Also of note is that this property is fairly remotely located (around five minutes from the airport terminal) in an office park-type setting, but there were always security guards wandering around the premises. I don't know if past events have warranted this level of patrol activity, but I was surprised by it as I don't typically stay at hotels that require visible security patrols, especially in such a seemingly quiet neighborhood. There is a bar and restaurant that adjoins the parking lot, so perhaps disturbances sometimes emanate from there. Either way, I didn't feel this hotel fit with the brand image I thought Radisson was trying to project. It seemed down-scale and had something of a Super 8 feel to it. The $40/night price paid through an internet bidding website was appropriate though. If the price had been any higher, I would not have felt the same way.
