“Loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2007

We stayed here for 6 nights with our daughters (3 & 5).
I could not find one thing wrong with this hotel besides the bathroom being VERY small in the room.
We will stay here again when we come back to Colorado Springs.

We stayed at the Embassy for two nights. The hotel was beautiful. Loved the plants in the atrium. The made to order breakfast was just right for our needs. The room had a little balcony, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was rather small for four people. Places to visit: Garden of the Gods and Cog Railway to Pikes Peak. Would definitely stay there again and cannot wait to go back!

Stunning dining area surrounded by palm trees, koi fishponds, skylit high ceiling. Nice indoor pool/hottub. Evening reception only had tortilla chips and mini pretzels but you can get unlimited beverages for free from the machine. Breakfast quality varied with time you got there. Sometimes they ran out of pancakes, sometimes they undercooked them, sometimes they gave you premade pancakes which were cold, sometimes you got them straight off the griddle and were then delicious. Eggs too buttery, bacon crispy. Hot oatmeal too creamy but had nice toppings available. Lots of hot and cold beverage choices for breakfast. Nice melon and fruits, yogurts. Room was not cold enough and manager claimed nothing could be done. He gave us a fan and told us to sleep with the sliding balcony door open! After insisting for a change of room, we got a room where the a/c was perfect. Water pressure poor in showers because the hotel was overbooked. Nice business center with free internet access but slow. Pull out sofabed and rollaway cot not comfortable. No shower in pool area which overlooked breakfast area. Comfortable seating on every floor and in lobby.

We stayed at the ES last week, we were in town for the State Games of America. Overall we liked the room, the bathroom was way too small, especially for a family of 4. The room seemed to never cool down, the AC ran constantly, so that could be better.
Our room had a great view of Pikes Peak, but on the last day the sliding door broke and we had to struggle to get it closed!
Full breakfast was included, but was the same thing everyday. After 4 days it got really repetitive and the selection was not as varied as some of ES we have visited in the past.
We love the Colorado Springs area, there is so much to do--I would love to move there! We went rafting on the Arkansas River, Royal Gorge. We used Royal Gorge Rafting. We would highly recommend this company. They have a nice bar and grill area that you can use when you return from your trip.

  • Liked — The size of the suite
  • Disliked — The repetitive food for breakfast, the small bathroom, AC

We stayed at the Embassy Suites for 3 nights in July and had a wonderful experience. The suite was perfect for my family of 5. The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The made to order breakfast was delicious with many, many options. The happy hour was a lot of fun as we brought board games and played with the kids while enjoying free drinks and snacks. The atrium was beautiful but so cold that our breakfast got cold before we were able to finish it! My husband used the business/internet room on several occassions and had no trouble getting on. After travelling all over Colorado and staying at different chains, we felt this was a great deal for the money. After this stay we are an Embassy Suite family all the way!!

We stayed at the Embassy Suites in July. When we checked in the clerk was not very friendly. The room was neat and clean but the bathroom was smaller than most. The air conditioning was the major problem. Even though we had been told it had been fixed - we had to set the thermostat on 66 to cool the room. The 3 days we stayed were cloudy and not too hot . I imagine if it had been sunny and warmer the room would have bordered on being uncomfortable. Humidity was high in the room and damp. I imagine it was also part of the air conditioning problem.
If you need the computer in the business center forget it. It is usually occupied by younger teenagers. When I asked the front desk if there was a time limit on the computer (after waiting 2 hours for the same young person to get off) with an annoyed look she told me there was not a time limit.
On the plus side the atrium is beautiful and the happy hour staff is wonderful.
We were on a rewards stay so our 3 night stay was free. I would not have been happy to pay the full price. There are much better Embassy Suites with friendlier front desk staff.

I would give this hotel a 5 if it weren't for the air conditioning. We had 6 in this suite and it was pretty tight quarters for that many people, even though they say it sleeps 6. It was a very pretty hotel - very attractive lobby and the suites are very nice, but on the small size. Someone on another site complained about the number of TV channels. I think there were plenty and why you would be concerned about that is beyond me. The air conditioning was a problem. They brought us a fan but we opened the sliding doors and kept them open all night. It cools off there at night so it was pleasant having the doors open and there was a balcony right outside the door. We never did get to experience the dinner cocktail hour with snacks, but it did look good from a distance as we were coming and going. The breakfast was very nice and I don't think anyone could complain about the quality of the breakfast, even if you were paying for it. I did find I had to actually walk down to the desk to get any assistance as the phone just rang and rang, but they were booked solid and were very busy. They were very helpful in giving me driving directions and responded quickly to our few requests. It's about 30 mins from the airport, a pretty easy drive and has a TGI Friday's and a couple of other restaurants within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again.

  • Liked — Very pretty and clean, free breakfast and cocktail hour.
