“Terrific value for money!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014

When you make a choice of this kind, the primary motivation is to minimize the money and time you spend there. Ours was a transit stop with three grand-kids in tow on our way up to Crested Butte, and it worked perfectly well to store our luggage and get in late enough to hit the beds. Given that it cost next to nothing, I would rate it pretty high on the efficiency scale.

No nonsense check in, free wi fi and a relatively clean room and bath. Not much more you need for an overnight stop although the AC was a trifle temperamental. Well located for an early morning health walk around the quiet neighborhood.

Room Tip: All the rooms are pretty much the same, I would think.

I often stay here when I come down to visit my Mom . I get every thing I need , comfortable , clean, safe, WiFi. Convenient to everything . The Staff is helpful the room is clean , I usually arrive very late and they take care of every thing quickly and gave me in my bed in short order. Never any problems.

We stayed there over Memorial Day for one night on May 24th. The photo doesn't show that it is surrounded by houses. No resturants nearby. The carpet was very stained to our room and old. The motel is old. We thought the walls needed to be cleaned and the hairdryer only worked for a short time. Slim pickings on the continental breakfast. The room smelled musty and you could really pick up on it after being outside. We won't stay there again as we will find hotels on Academy or Garden of the Gods. We will pay for a new better place.

Room Tip: The place is quiet but old and not what is advertised.

Well this place is definitely retro, but its also very cheap, has free parking and is close to downtown. However, the internet situation is unclear, whether it works or not, I'll never know, but I was only there for one night. For a night, passing through, having a meeting at the University the next day, it was sufficient. We are a young couple living on a budget, so our other option was camping in the cold rain....it was good enough for the price. The room itself was not very memorable but I did get some sleep and that was what it was all about.

I was very surprised when I read some of the reviews about this hotel. I have been here for a few days now while waiting for an apartment and I have never had better service anywhere. The first time I stepped through the door I was greeted with a smile and careful consideration to make sure I had the accommodations I needed. When I need something or have a problem, there is someone there immediately - always with a smile and a solution! The other thing I would like to address - This is a small hotel in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs. It is very close to the stores and businesses and Colorado College. It does not have rooms with panoramic views and the rooms do face the parking lot but the rooms are pretty and clean and you don't have to walk down corridors and hallways and 3 or 4 flights of stairs to get you and your luggage to your car! I love the convenience and the people here are wonderful.

Excellent location, very close to Colorado College and "downtown" Colorado Springs.

First, the rooms do not open into internal hallways. The room doors open to the exterior of the building. Just be aware of that from a security perspective. In addition, the rooms all face the parking lot, increasing the potential for noise. There always seemed to be people standing around in the parking lot or sitting in their cars.

The room itself was clean, and the front desk staff was very cooperative and helpful in getting the internet to work.

You can skip the "breakfast included." A machine that emits an orange liquid juice substitute for orange juice, dry donuts, mediocre coffee. Better to pack in something the night before.

But affordable it was.

Room Tip: Second-floor room seemed to be more secure. Can see what's going on in the parking lot before y...
