“Lovely stay, except for the guest room lighting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2014

We had a wonderful experience with this hotel. Beautifully decorated grounds and room. Attentive staff. Bed was very comfortable. Robe and bed throw provided were very nice touches. Both the room lounge chair and desk chair were extremely comfortable. The bathroom is large and well done.

Meals in the restaurant were delicious and fairly priced. Starbucks on sight was a welcome convenience.

Our only issue that might prevent us from a return trip was the guest room lighting. The entire room had only the useless 'spaghetti' bulbs. Even with every light in the room turned on high we could barely see to read and work. Also, the lighting gave the entire room a sickly yellow appearance that was not inviting. The bathroom lighting was especially bad because the outside light could not reach that area.

Room Tip: Request top floor for view. Ask to be away from the busy road. Our room was near the road and the...

We stayed at this resort for my husband's company's annual meeting. The room was clean. The view from our balcony was exceptional. The food at the hotel was some of the best we had during our trip, outside restaurants included. The service was great, very friendly and helpful staff.

There are only a few downfalls...There are many separate lodges housing the individual "hotel" rooms, which means lots of walking. Not a problem for us, but may be for some. Also, many steps. Some without any noticeable handicap accessibility---so definitely ask about this if you are in need.

There is no actual concierge. However, the front desk does everything they can to help you find what you're looking for.

We would definitely stay here again.

Nothing pleases us more than hearing a guest would definitely stay with us again at Cheyenne Mountain Resort. We’re happy to hear you found your room clean, the views exceptional and the food some of the best you had on your trip. Thank you for acknowledging our staff who loves to go above and beyond not only to make our guests feel welcome but to give them the best experience possible during their stay with us. We appreciate your concern in reference to our separate buildings and the need to walk to different areas but we can assure you that should a guest require special needs we do have accommodations and staff who are more than willing to help make any guest comfortable during their stay. Thank you for your review, we look forward to your return visit.

Awesome and resort-like, the Cheyenne Mountain is the place to stay. Unlike an average hotel, the housing is split up and looks lodge-style-esc. There is a lot to do on the grounds including an indoor olympic sized pool, tennis courts, a great outdoor pool that is both adult and kid friendly, a nice gym, and a cool lake/pond with free canoe and water sport rentals. Great place! Would definitely stay again

I loved the staff, amenities and location. Beautiful views, especially while sitting at the fire pit outside the lobby overlooking the valley. I really enjoyed the lake and pool. The seafood buffet was exceptional. Sheridan, the Front Desk Associate, was exceptional and friendly. She went out of her way to help me with my questions and got my forgotten earrings and jewelry out of the room to me very efficiently when I came back after checkout. Thanks to housekeeping for helping with the hand off. I was happy to have such wonderful and trustworthy assistance. The beds are dreamy and we slept for 11 hours each night.

I wrote a review through trip advisor that never made this site. So am repeating the review. My wife and I planned a relaxing weekend getaway for our 44th wedding anniversary. We mistakenly chose the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. We paid extra for the Rendez Vous for Two Package and our experience follows: 1) Checked in and during check in we reminded staff that we don't drink alcohol and requested sparkling cider as we did when making the reservation. Got to our room at 4:00 pm to find champagne not sparkling cider. Tried to call the front desk for 15 minutes but the phone rang busy busy busy so I walked the champagne back to the front desk (far from an upscale experience). People were nice (only reason I give the resort 1 star rather than 0) and we received our sparkling cider; 2) Dressed for dinner only to be told that the chef closed the dining room about 20 minutes before we arrived for dinner. Couldn't someone track those of us with special packages and let us know? We were told we could eat our three course Colorado Fusion DInner in the Sports Bar listening to loud people cheer every basket made during the tournament or in the lobby area. Wow, now that is a romantic suggestion. We decided to eat outside. Views were good as the sun was setting. Finally, nearly an hour after ordering it our meal arrived. It was cold. So, to show concern a hospitality manager offered a round of free drinks. I reminded her we do not drink alcohol. She left. So, bottom line, contrary to advertising, accomodations were not deluxe as advertised; sparkling cider was not delivered as requested; dinner was not served as advertised; and the elegant breakfast was mediocre at best. For example, after being shown to our table the server forgot to tell us about ordering waffles or ordering omlets. After we served ourselves at the buffet, same stuff one can get at most hotels that serve a continental breakfast, and began eating we were told about the behind the scenes breakfast offerings. I would laugh but the weekend at the resort was one foul up after another. As a manager I take full responsibility for my staff and our visitor's experiences. However, it seems management at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort only offer lip service. We paide for an experience we did not receive and were offered... sorry. Don't waste your time or money at Cheyenne Mountain Resort. Head to the Broadmoor.

Stayed here for 2 nights while at a conference. Nice place to stay - very much like apartments and condos. Huge complex. Rooms are clean and comfortable with a small balcony but decor is dark. View from our balcony was partially blocked by a large fir tree, but could see some of the mountains. Lobby and restaurant areas are beautifully designed - rustic looking with wood and huge rock fireplace. Very nice outside area to sit and relax. Staff were very pleasant and efficient at check in and check out. Housekeeping was very good. Didn't eat there so can not speak to that. Value was good.

Stayed there in May for one night.Room 216 in the Elk wing was noisy, the decor and lighting is dreary as is the bathroom.Ordered room service which was aweful but not surprising since breakfast buffet was the same.Definitely not welcoming, was happy to leave.
