My room (#126) had a large, persistent puddle of water on the carpet near the bathroom and smelled of mildew. There was free wireless internet access in the room but for some reason it seemed to take me about 10 - 20 minutes of trying to establish a connection. The water pressure in the shower was low and the temperature sometimes varied. The air conditioner was quite loud.

The complimentary buffet breakfast was decent -- scrambled eggs, hash brown potatoes, cereal, cinnamon buns, coffee, and juices from a fountain dispenser. They also had waffle makers to make your own waffles (only one topping available -- maple syrup). The restaurant was only open for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights.

“Worst Customer Service Ever!”

My sister (73 yo) and I stayed for six nights. I had the reservations made 6 months in advance. The air did not work in our room, it took the front manager three days to move us. They discounted our room 5% for three nights as compensation for sitting in a hot room with cold wash clothes on our face for two nights! They are very rude plus lied on numerous occasions.

My daughter and I arrived on June 10, 2006, checked-in and the room assigned was the worst room I have stayed in. The rug was stained, very old and the furniture was very old, scuffed and in need of replacement. The room had a mildew smell and the air conditioner made a loud noise. I have stayed at Best Western hotels before and I have never stayed at one that should rate a Star 1 motel, not worth the money I paid for and my daughter and I left, did not even stay there. Never will I stay at Best Western again.

“Nice Stay for Great Price”

Best Western Pikes Peak Inn

For the price I got on [---------](under $35/night), this hotel was fine. The front desk employees were pleasant. The room was clean, comfortable and average sized. I stayed for 5 nights, and they put me in a room with a microwave and small fridge, both clean and worked great. I didn't have breakfast there, but it looked good with self-made waffles.

CONS:
Be careful in the shower. The water pressure was great, but the temperature would not remain constant for more than a few seconds. From warm to EXTREMELY hot, to cold throughout.

My room had adjoining rooms and I could hear their TVs clearly from my room even though they weren't turned up very loud. Fortunately, my neighbors were early to bed, so overall, the stay was quiet.

TV reception is so-so, and channels are limited. But who wants to stay inside and watch TV much when there's beautiful Colorado Springs to explore and enjoy?

In room "free" wireless internet was non-existant. The hotel manager had a maintenance guy reset the router, but it still didn't work. But who wants to stay inside and surf the net when there's beautiful Colorado Springs to explore and enjoy? There is a PC in a small office by the lobby with a good internet connection that's available free of charge. This worked great to check the weather, ski conditions, and avalanche forecasts!

PROS:
Clean, comfortable room. Housekeeping was fine.

Location is great... just minutes from UCCS, Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, I-25 and more.

Price... $44/night if you walkin. I got my room for UNDER $35/night thru priceline (2 star).

INSIDER TIP: Ask for a room in the 1 story front building; they're the nicer rooms.

Enjoy your stay!

“False Advertising ?”

Advertised: Internet access/business room - We stayed 2 nights and the computer was "out of service" the whole time.

Advertised: Office open 24 hours
I went to the office early one morning to check on the status of the internet. Doors locked. Back to room and tried to call office. No answer.

Advertised: Heated Pool
No it wasn't

Returned to room about 5 pm 2nd day. Absolutely NO towels in room.

I wish I had read the other reviews here first! This hotel does not help the Best Western reputation.
