“this place has hit rock bottom”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2012

I see fewer and fewer diners everytime I visit and its a shame. This place USED to be really good. They are a tad pricey for what you get but if drinks are good I will over look. The "house margaritas" have NO ALCOHOL in them what-so-ever. I have mentioned this on more than one occasion with the waiter ALWAYS saying "oh i will personally make sure........" but the next one is just as weak.

Have NO plans of EVER returning, which is sad, I previously rated this place GREAT but "the bloom is off the rose".

“OK Mexican Food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2012

I occasionally eat lunch here with friends. The food isn't great, but it's not bad either. I like the spinach enchiladas. The staff is always very nice and the service is always very good.

“This place sets the bar HIGH. Hard to beat.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2012 via mobile

My husband and I have been coming here for years. We travel a lot in the States for business and constantly find ourselves comparing all mexican restaurants against Pueblo Viejo. They have outstanding chips and salsa. The fajitas are the best we've ever had. They are huge so we split the steak and chicken for 2. The meat is perfectly seasoned and tender and rests on a luscious bed of tons of exquisitely prepared caramelized onions and peppers. Whatever sauce they cook in is euphoria on the tastebuds. The guac is outstanding. Order the sangria because it is your best value if you want to feel happy. It comes in half or whole carafes too. The dos xx on draft comes in a frozen mug. So awesome! We've tried at least half the menu over the years and everything is absolutely delicious. We can't say one negative thing about this amazing place. Hope you love it!

“Authentic Food and great service for a good price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2011

My husband and I often go to Pueblo Viejo when we are in the mood for Mexican cuisine. We used to go to the location off Academy and now go to their newer location on Powers Blvd.

The price is good, the food comes out quickly, and it is always delicious. The servers are always friendly and helpful. Save room for the warm and gooey sopapillas!

They often have coupons in the local coupon magazines and Valpak for buy 1, get 1 entree half off.
